Might be anti theft immobilizer? A new PCM and keys would require programming for theft.

The new pcm was programmed to my Vin, the key came with the new ignition cylinder we put in with a new ignition switch. I don't think it had resisters, I didn't have an alarm system.

The day it died I shifted to put it in neutral to restart it, and I remember I was having problems with it not showing on the dash what year I was in, do sometimes I'd end up in drive or overdrive and not realise it, so we're thinking maybe we think it's in park but it thinks it's in reverse causing it not to start. . My husband checked that and said it seems to be shifting heads ok but without being able to see on the dash what year it's in, were not certain. .
