Asked by Steve Dec 20, 2017 at 12:15 AM about the 2000 Dodge Caravan SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently bought a 2000 Dodge caravan, twice now
when I have stopped it after driving for 20 or so
miles it wouldn't start up again. the battery is
charged there's no clicking sound, the engine
doesn't turn over and the starter motor is silent.
Both time after it cooled down for a couple of
hours it starts right up. Any ideas?

Probably lost the heat shield that goes on over the starter motor. Your description sounds like a heat-soaked starter.
