I changed my ignition switch on my 2006 dodge grand caravan does it have to be programmed to the van

Blank keys come with a new transmiter at the top so unless you are abble to transfer the top part of the old key .. to the new key you have to reprogram .... not a big deal, they have instructions how it's done all over the Net Here's one on Utube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2j2gmCSJmcY
