i just bought the car ihave a little miss in idel but just noticed i dont have a air filter also ihave a squeal every time i start tre car ithink my belt is loose it when i use wipers lights power flux but alt checks out fine can i tighten the belt

oooo, oh no, your tensioner is loose because the idler pulley is worn, and sending it slighty out of alignment and is ready to be changed---both the belt and the idler~

and no, you cannot tighten this belt, the spring arm with idler keeps it to the perfect tension....until it starts to wear out...

will shop for your bearing and tension belt too, if you've got a prefernce for brand...Gates. Delco...Beck Arnley...will dig in, just say go-

Get an air filter in there too. It keeps the larger chunks of dust out of the engine.
