I have a Chrysler Sebring 2003 the heat
wasn't getting hot so I bought a thermostat,
after having it put in, my car was
overheating, so I replaced temperature
housing, overflow, hoses nothing worked.
While it was overheating my heat blew super
hot, the last thing I could think of was
replace the radiator. While I had everything
out, I decided to check the thermostat
because i didn't install it and found the
person installed it backwards, after fixing
that, the car stopped overheating but now
the heat don't get hot at all. Any help?

A few things to look at. Check the temperature rating on the thermostat to verify the correct one is installed. It should be around 180 degrees and will be stamped on the housing of the stat. There is a possibility that a "low temp" stat was installed not allowing the normal operating temperature. Also make sure you are running a true 50/50 mix and it's clean. It will be time for a system flush if the coolant is dark or brown in color.

One thing to make sure is that the thermostat was put in correctly. if it is put in backwards, the car will overheat and nothing you can do otherwise will fix it except take it back out and turn it around and make sure that the weep hole is on top to allow air to escape and not cause a vacuum in the engine. the hole should be on top of the thermostat and the spring on the thermostat should go inside the motor. When we got our 2002 Sebring it was overheating and the thermostat was in backwards. It is the best thing to check first. Good Luck!!!

Did you replace the thermostat or just turn it around, it may have stuck open which would cause it to not give you heat inside the car
Don't gorget to bleed the system as well. Not doing so will cause an air pocket that normally will go to the heater core since that is the highest point in the cooling system
