Does the 2004 Escape need a code to reactivate the radio, etc?

Asked by Sandyr Feb 27, 2007 at 10:23 PM about the 2004 Ford Escape

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2004 Escape was in long term parking. When I turned on the radio nothing. Do I need a code to get the audio electronics to function? If not any suggestions to solve the problem?

Hi Sandy, I couldn't confirm that as fact on the web but I am pretty sure that's the case if the battery died on your Escape while in LTP. This is now a pretty common anti-theft device. You need to contact a Ford dealer and probably give him your VIN# and he will help you crack the code. Good luck!
