Can an alternator from a 2005 Ford Escape be used to replace the bad alternator on a 2006 Ford Escape?

I have found an alternator from a 2005 Ford Escape V6 3.0L that someone is telling me can be used on a 2006 Ford Escape.....is this true?  Are the parts interchangeable??

In most cases you can use parts from the same vehicle with a two year difference, it's almost the same as using coil packs from a town car and putting them into an expedition or navigator. It just all depends on the part you're looking for. The the answer to your question is yes...
