2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Reviews Summary

If you have more than a couple of kids, chances are good that a regular Toyota Highlander won’t be big enough for all your needs. For many shoppers like you, the Kia Telluride and its corporate cousin, the Hyundai Palisade, have become the obvious choices. Those three-row crossovers are newer, bigger, and incredibly nice to drive.

But now there’s a new Highlander. A bigger Highlander. A Grand Highlander. This all-new midsize SUV takes a popular nameplate (which, don't worry, isn’t going anywhere) and adds a little extra space. But what separates the Grand Highlander from the field is the availability of not one, but two different hybrid powertrains. This all-new model offers plenty of space, good fuel efficiency, and the automaker’s sterling reputation for reliability. So, is the 2024 Grand Highlander an immediate three-row SUV threat to the hot-selling Kia Telluride?

2025 Porsche Cayenne Reviews Summary

Verdict: Even the base model Cayenne delivers an agile driving experience, but those willing to dig deep into their bank account for one of Porsche’s more expensive Cayenne models are rewarded with a spirited drive like no other. The competition here is stiff, in the form of other German SUVs like the Audi Q8, BMW X5, and Mercedes-Benz GLE, and their performance variants. However, the Cayenne is not here to lose.

2024 Toyota Grand Highlander

9/10

2025 Porsche Cayenne

9/10

The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander was a significant addition to Toyota's lineup of crossovers and SUVs, positioned between the Highlander and the Sequoia. Built on the TNGA-K platform, it shared its underpinnings with models like the RAV4 and Camry, distinguishing itself from the body-on-frame Sequoia. The Grand Highlander was notably larger, with a length of 5,115 millimetres and a wheelbase of 2,950 millimetres, offering a spacious interior that rivalled and even surpassed competitors like the Kia Telluride. Its design, while conservative, drew inspiration from rugged vehicles, featuring a blockier style akin to the Ford Explorer and Honda Pilot. The interior offered a range of trims, from the XLE with black Softex synthetic leather to the Platinum with real leather and optional Portobello upholstery. The vehicle was well-equipped for comfort, with features like a 10-way power-adjustable driver seat, heated front seats, and a large centre console.

The 2025 Porsche Cayenne, available as a standard SUV or a sporty Coupe, offered a range of trims from the base model to the high-performance Turbo E-Hybrid. The GTS trim, which was the focus of this review, featured high gloss black trim, larger air intakes, and tinted headlights. The Cayenne's interior was highly customizable, with options for different colours, trims, and even seat belts. While the base model had standard features like eight-way power-adjustable seats and two-zone climate control, higher trims like the GTS offered upgrades such as a GT Sport steering wheel and Race-Tex headliner. The Cayenne could accommodate five people comfortably, with ample headroom in the second row, even in the Coupe version. Despite its luxurious offerings, many features were optional, requiring additional expenditure.
