Diesel review only, I’ve never tested the gasoline models. The BMW 328D diesel xdrive is the most fuel efficient internal combustion engine powered all wheel drive vehicle. Go ahead and try to find another more efficient, you won’t be able to. For Highway it will get you into the 52 MPG range stock, and with a some modification into the 56 range, City is still high 40’s. It has all the creature comfort’s you could want, and is a quite, comfortable ride! Blasts through snow and ice especially with winter tires, this is a great car for all regions. Car is plenty spacious for four and has a large trunk (boot ) storage. Find yourself one! Aug 22, 2022

Clean and pristine looking tan leather, low miles, great price, it really did take me months of looking to see this pop up in an e-mail one day after being picky with my searches and finding nothing I really wanted… :) Also the only thing I’m dealing with right now is getting apple CarPlay onto the car which seems very do-able / simple after looking it up on YouTube.. BMW has some great apps and easy ways to update the multimedia even from the 2014 . Jun 24, 2022

Went to a Ford dealership to look at this pre-owned BMW diesel wagon to buy took the car on a short test drive around the block and a odd odor came from the HVAC air vents from the car and the A/C was on at the time the test drive it smelled like something was burning and the check engine light was on as well and the car had a shaking and vibration during the test drive and the passenger seat back was taken off and the interior of the car still needs a quality detail i found a taco coupon in the center console from a restaurant and apparently this car was in inspected and it has been in there shop and I noticed a oil leak from the engine Jun 20, 2022

Great handling and good power. Reliability is a concern. Parts that normally don’t fail before 100,000 miles do. Had the car 6 months. Fuel tank needed to be replaced at 76,000 miles due to poor build quality. Clutch went at the same time. At 82,000 miles the car developed a rattle from the front of the engine. Turns out the timing chain tensioner and guides were failing, a common problem with these engines. I have had many BMWs in the past but none have been as unreliable as this one. Hence why I don’t own it anymore. If you can find one that has had the timing chain issue resolved than it may be a good buy but if not then plan on replacing it at a cost of $3000-3500 bucks. After driving my 2010 Jetta Sportwagen for 50,000 miles, I test drove the new 328d that BMW was finally offering in North America. I was looking for an automatic for my daily commute (my Jetta was a manual transmission, and I was getting a bit tired of the stop-and-go), and the 328d was an upgrade on everything that I already loved about the Jetta: AWD, more luxury, better mpg, a great automatic transmission, significantly more fun to drive, much quieter at cruising speeds with an awesome OEM stereo -- I just had to have it. I wouldn't call it the world's best value, at nearly 2x the price of my Jetta and offering only incremental improvements in many ways, but at the end of the day it makes for a cohesive whole with great character that stands up to any comparison with any vehicle. Nothing else on the road provides this kind of driving enjoyment while also offering the utility, space, mpg and luxury of this car. I love getting into it every day... Jul 09, 2014
