2011 Kia Sorento Reviews, Pricing & Specs

Started with a lease of the 2011 Kia Sorento. Was looking for a safe Kia Sorento for my daughter to use in college in New England. This model is great in snow and has a very tight turning radius. Didnt get many options as I was looking for a base model under $25K. I ended up buying out the lease and still like to drive it. Just came back from a 3,000 mile road trip with it and even though I have back problems. I found it comfortable to drive for long periods of time.Mar 03, 2023

For the price, this car is a great value. Solid car, good driving experience, and a lot of features for the price. Used car shoppers have the advantage that Kia still depreciates more than rivals like Honda or Toyota, and has similar quality and reliability by this point in time. This Kia is a good quality vehicle. The cons out weigh the pros in my situation. You will get tired of this SUV real quick if you travel with a family of 3 or more point blank. The third row seat is a excellent accommodation but, space is limited. When both 3rd row seats are occupied resulting in zero space for packing items via the trunk. I'm now in search for a bigger SUV like GMC or Chevy. On the positive side, if I was single I'd be flying up and down the highway every chance I get due to the V6 power. The transition from automatic to manual at anytime is flawless and exiting especially going up hill and provides great feedback & control in traffic. Keep the oil change up or you will experience random jerking in manual model in 4th and 5th gear. A recall on the lighting system brakes and head lamps burning out. 2.4L not bad for acceleration for a relaxed driver but aggressive after you pump a gas. 6 speed sportsmatic gives a choice of preference for a specific needs. When Im on rush I can select into electronic manual for fast acceleration and manuevering. Otherwise, I can use my cruise control for much more relaxing drive. Quality is awsome in and out. Seems like KIA is on a real world of COMPETETION. The design as well as the technology merge on the right timing. KOREAN architecture + European perspective + American worksmanship makes this vehicle have an edge for a new level of KIA generation. Appearance is competetive...not too big nor small with decent angles and shapes. It cost much cheaper than CR-V and Highlander with the same FEATURES! Let's say a matter of USD 5,000.00 with 60,000 miles bumper to bumper + 100,000 miles powertrain warranties. A 50.00 USD full tank and it run 300miles and more. Maintenance under the dealership for 100,000 miles it brings a lot of value so far. Roomy and quite cabin with bluetooth and satellite on board bring much more exciting! Sep 08, 2010

Excellent quality, many items that are optional elsewhere are standard equipment in the 2011 Sorento. Handling is good, braking excellent with the stability package. Ours is an I-4 with the 6 spd auto and third seat. Acceleration is good and fuel economy seems good also with 600 mi on the clock--20 mpg in suburban and city driving with no trips yet. I expect that on a road trip it will exceed the 28 mpg EPA rating. This is a comfortable, good looking SUV with a lot going for it. Don forget the warranty! We live in Maine and drive our cars and trucks into the ground, kept the last SUV for 9 yrs and 130,000 mi. I looked at all of them and chose the Sorento. Expect that it will last and be reliable for a long time. Recommend it to anyone who needs AWD and elbow room.Mar 01, 2010
