What owners say
"Overall, owners of the 2009 Nissan Versa appreciate its reliability and excellent gas mileage, making it an economical choice for daily driving. Many drivers find it comfortable for city use, and it performs adequately for most needs, although not particularly sporty. On the downside, some are disappointed with its power and handling, especially when driving with multiple passengers. While generally good for value, it's not designed for high-performance expectations."
My daughter loves her car. She loves the performance it gives her, the great gas mileage, and the price was great. Would recommend this car.
October 5, 2009If youre looking for performance, this is not the car for you lol. 1.8L I4, 122HP (more like 95) you wont be getting places too quickly. But with 24MPG city, you'll be happy with the money you saved getting there. Driving it on the highway is a bit tricky when it comes to gas though. With a 10gal fuel tank it gets 32MPG but it feels more like 20-25. Overall its a ok car, as long as you dont plan on taking 4 friends along for the ride. Take 2 to keep it cormfortable.
November 4, 2011Intended to be a cheap, economic to own car, and that's about what it is. Pretty terrible as far as anything related to sport, but I fit in both the front and rear seats relatively well, which is saying something, as I am nowhere near a small guy. Gets pretty good gas mileage for its size. Haven't had any problems with it, and we've had it now for nearly 3 years. CVT transmission is alright. Cool to show the lack of shifting to your non-car enthusiast friends when you're starting from a stop at a stoplight, but it takes about a decade and a half to switch from reverse to forward, which is a huge pain if you have to reverse onto a street with any sort of traffic. Keyless entry and starting are convenient. Cargo space is acceptable. Not huge by any means, but enough for groceries for a big family for week.

November 11, 2011well i have the six speed version of the versa and its performance is all around decent. it was a solid buy for the price and the fact that it was brand new. overall i love my car i just need to add a decent sound system and maybe a more solid exhaust.
July 20, 2009Great Car for the Money! I owned a nissan altima prior for 10 years, its still running great and my parents now own it. The Nissan Versa seems to be keeping that same standard.
January 7, 2010Looking for a good car under ten thousand dollars for my granddaughter was a challenge. After going to may different lots, looking at Ford Focus, Hyundai Sonatas, Toyotas Corolla and cars in that range, we found a very nice 2009 Nissan Sentra SL. The car had all of the basic amenities she wanted. Outside of vinyl interior and rear disc brakes, she got everything she wanted.
May 18, 2023Its a good daily driver, Good gas mileage. it gets up and goes if you need it too but it doesnt like it much. its a daily driver car, its rough on brakes but, it is kind of in the wrong state to go by that because of all of our hills.
