2007 Hyundai Getz Reviews, Pricing & Specs

I have a Getz with 1.4l engine and a manual gearbox. You may hope for the good acceleration only after 3000 rev\min. Braking and ABS system is quite well, I've tried switching it off by pulling out the fuse. Thus I've managed to shorten the braking distance for 4 meters using the impulse braking technique. I like the steering effort though the hydraulic amplifier of the sterring wheel may have been a little bit more light-weighted. It is quite cheap (meaning both price of the car and the maintenance) and doesn't require frequent repairs. Well-made smart city car. Aug 25, 2010

1600 cc on a small body like that make it as a bullet on the road, stability is not bad at all, I took 3'oraz on 150 k/h. i gave it 7/10 in stability and it depends on the driver. The best small car with the biggest saloon and the inner design is wonderful. Overall I like it so much and I don't expect from hyundai a performance more than that. Driwing is easy. Korean's car's quality is better than I can believe. Soon there is two years and maybe 20 000 kilometers back and I am happy for this car. Only problem was fuel. It freesed in low temperatures. Now I have winter quality. Finnish hot summer has gone and Getz is better than ever. No any problems at all. Now in August we have more rain and lower temperature. Car's cooling is very good idea. It is not so ofen seen in finnish cars. It should be in every car. Dec 27, 2009

Performance-Ive the 1.1 GVS Version which borrows the engine from its junior the Santro with extra 4 horses on the tap.As a result performance has dropped over the 1.3 making this almost 1000kg car a bit lazy.Acceleration is gradual upto 3k rpm and a bit steady after that.struggles at lower speeds in high gears with the air con switched on but never the less its power is very much adequate in city.on the highway it may not have the superior overtaking abilities of its rival the Swift but what it offers is a relaxed cruise.the 100 mark takes a patient 17 seconds.Gearbox is slick and one of the Getz's high points.its super smooth and the shifts are easy to operate.Hyundai cars in general are not known for handling.Getz does not corner with aplomb as the Swift but steering is very direct and responsive.Bigger tyres help a lot.Braking as always is very good , very sharp but may lock during sudden application at high speed. Build Quality-Good but not as good as the Japs or Germans but very much better than the Swift.front doors close with a good solid thud but the same cant be said of the back door.Best build in the segment if u r not considering the Fabia.Paint quality is good.Safety is commendable. Appearance-Getz is a Supermini Hatch.The new Prime gets new Headlamps and Tailamps whereas rest remains the same.ground clearance is impressive and big speed breakers are a piece of cake for this car.the german designed car has got the right mix of straight lines and curves.interiors offer tremendous space. i assure 3 avg indian adults can sit comfortably.seats are well bolstered but the rear seats do not have much of a thigh and head support.Shiny black plastic on the Dash is not quite impressive and the centre console is made of brushed aluminium.buttons and other controls are well laid out and convenient.u get a tacho speedo trip as in all cars and wipers with intermittent controls.visiblity is good wherever u are seated in the car.remote boot release is missing but not of an issue as this baby has central locking with control for the boot too.power windows standard.spoiler optional. Cost of Ownership-the 1.1 makes use of tax benefit for small cars and hence offers tremendous value for 4.6 lakhs.It returns around 10-11 kmpl in heavy traffic which is respectable for a heavy but underpowered car with the AC ON.should give some decent figures on highway.comes with standard 2 year warranty with optional extensions.after free service is over you may need to spend around 2k-3k INR for optimum service annually if u want ur Getz Prime In Prime condition. Fun Factor-Space is one of the reasons why i picked this over the Swift.While it may not have the drool of the Swift it is good in its own way and only a Getz owner can appreciate its high points.handsome and elegant design.perfect family car for city.not for the enthusiast who does drifts and bets his car on drag races (but I guarantee u a drag win with the 110 bhp diesel getz) though. Actually a 2009 model but could not select anything over 2007. Bought it as a cheap run about to save money and preserve my other car. Has great fuel economy, is cheap to maintain and easy to drive. Didn't come with cruise control so useless for long trips. Very easy to park and get around because of it's compact size. The interior is very utilitarian, all plastic, did come with electric windows and mirrors, central locvking etc. And when the rear seats are folded down the boot space is larger than most compact cars I looked at. But as a commuter car it is great, easy to keep clean. It only has a 1.4L 4cyl engine so is gutless with the air con on but it's so cheap to run - who cares. If we buy another one for my husband we would probably get the 1.6L engine because they are the same price and would'nt be so gutless with the air con running.Apr 29, 2009

Performance - Acceleration is good if you push it, however, push it hard enough and the engine starts to sound like a 1970s model microwave crossed with a truck. Braking is somewhat responsive and can bring it to a quick stop without losing traction and you can easily swerve to avoid the imbisiles on the road, even if the steering is heavy for a car of the size with power steering. At 110km/h the car starts to seem a little unsure about whether it wants to go any faster and the pedals start to vibrate excessively. The manual gearbox is very smooth and minimal force is needed to change gears although 3rd gear is slightly drowsy. The Styling outside is standard and the styling inside is somewhat outdated and made of cheap plastics. One very positive thing on the inside is the quality of the sound system which has plenty of bass and volume to keep almost anyone happy. Due to the standard outside styling, the visibility in the car is excellent. While the car is rated at 6.1L/100km, I find that I frequently go as low as 5.8L/100km and is therefore extremely cheap to run. The car is fun to drive and is definiotely in the "cheap and cheerful" category.Dec 17, 2008
