My current car is a Skoda Fabia vRS. This car is a good all rounder and does everything I need it to do and does it well. It's fast, plenty of torque as it's a diesel, economical and is practical. It has a 6 speed gearbox which is a pleasure to use and makes motorway driving so much nicer. I regularly get 45-50mpg round town and on a good run 65-70mpg is easily achievable.
It is one of the nicest cars I have driven. Handling is very good considering the heavy lump on the front end. It's not like a Lotus Elise handling wise but still very good. Ingear acceleration is fantastic and can embarrass much more expensive cars. It's a very fun car to drive.
These cars are also very easy to tune. They can easily be remapped to 170-190bhp and because it's part of the VW/Audi group, performance parts from other cars in the group can be put on for example Audi S3 312mm brakes.
Naturally all cars have their common faults. The only one I've had so far has been leaking doors. This doesn't sound as bad as it is. It's a very simple fix under warranty and if it's not under warranty it should only cost around £10 or so to fix yourself.
If you want to know more about this fantastic car head over to www.briskoda.net which has a mass amount of information about this car and other Skoda's. If you need to know something about the car just ask . That's where I found out about the doors. I knew it was something to look out for when I bought one.
Apart from that the car is solid and well built. Some people have said it's almost like a mini Audi A3.Oct 29, 2008

Forget va va voom! My little Fabia VRS has more go than anything else I've driven. It has t he ability to be driven sedately when it will return a very respectable 60+ mpg or you can drive it like a total nut job passing most things on the road and still get 40 odd mpg! You decide! Oh and just to make it sound better I've had a K+N induction kit fitted, and it has actually improved mpgs!Jul 28, 2008
