It is the ultimate classic gt touring car. The rattles and questionable material choices of earlier Corvettes are gone. The engine and transmission are refined and plenty powerful. Styling is simple and tasteful unlike the later generations speed racer touches and F15 air intakes. I have a similar period Mustang GT and the Mustang has a prettier instrument panel but otherwise uses brute force to get it done. Both are great.Oct 20, 2023

If you’re looking for a great sports car at a minimal price point, look at the C6 Corvette. Excellent acceleration, superb handling, and amazing good looks. The 6.0 LS v8 has more than enough power even 15 years later. Get yourself a bright color and be the star of the roadways. Aug 10, 2022

A joy to look at, a blast to drive, and reasonably priced. 6-speed manual transmission only adds to the exhilaration. Previous owner took exceptional care of the vehicle and added some great aftermarket equipment. Both thumbs up!!Feb 06, 2020

This car exceeds 99% drivers abilities, its handling is way above what most people can extract from it, the brakes match the acceleration abilities and most astonishing is the milage. On road trips with a average speed of 75mph you get 26+ mpg The seats are ok but could be better. The car exceeds most of my expectations in terms of performance.Apr 26, 2015

Works like it should. You don't buy a Corvette to be a family car, you buy it to have fun and enjoy the thrill of driving and meeting others who own Corvettes. I like the way it looks, feels and handles. I was most surprised at the fuel economy it gets on the open road.Mar 02, 2015

I miss this car dearly, and I am definitely looking for another one. The raw power and handling is unequaled as compared to other sports cars I have driven, and for the price, it is a huge bargain when you factor in the capabilities.Jul 26, 2013

I like the looks. Just the right size. Gets good gas mileage for a 400 HP car. It is very comfortable on a long cruise with fully adjustable seats on both driver and passenger side. Has nice storage space in the trunk. My wife and I easily carry enough gear for a three or four day road trip. May 16, 2012

This is a great looking, fun and fast driving roadster! Plenty of horsepower, yet great economy-27 mpg! Triple black with all of the options that make it very comfortable for cross country or daily driving. It is an eye-catcher!Dec 27, 2010

Pros: SUPER FAST! 400hp, 400 lb-ft torque. Appearance. color. comfortable as a daily driver. engine sound (after my Corsa Sport catback exhaust). heated leather seats. Pop up display!
Con: pretty common (where I live at least). A/C not as good as can be. Nov 05, 2009

Most fantastic car to ever be designed in Detroit. This car out runs, out handles, and out brakes more expensive rivals out of Stuttgart and Milan. It is the car to which all other sport cars are compared. An American legend since 1953. Try one and see what all the hype is about!Sep 23, 2009

Best acceleration of any car I have driven before.
Always GM quality. Made and built in the USA!
Eye catching design with standout paint job.
Impressive MPG for a 500+ BHP sports coupe.
Very exciting car to drive! I love this car!

It is an evil car. You step on the gas and you are gone! It is a real street legal race car, with all the necessary gadgets to make you feel in a luxury car: CD player, navigation system, heated seats, a lot more.
Wherever you go people get excited for it, so watch out!
It si pricey if you can't afford the monthly and insurance cost (average both $1k). If you appreciate a nice sport american legend, you won't care. So what you do? You buy a "beater" for less than $4k to use on a daily basis!Jun 14, 2009

The sleek looks, the quality that is evident when driving the Corvette and the thrill attached to it is wonderful. This car surpasses in most respects the suypposedly higher end and coslier by two or three times sports cars available in today's market. Jun 04, 2009

Car is very fun to drive with the top on or off. It is a 6 speed manual and I just love the acceleration. It handles just great. Build quality is good no repairs so far and no squeaks or rattles. Car gets great mileage on the highway and probably doesn't do to bad in the city if driven easy.Dec 21, 2008

My Corvette has a Procharger Supercharger, Kook's 1 7/8" headers, Borla X-pipe, Borla Stinger Exhaust, B&M Short Throw Shifter. In a few weeks, I'll be addind a dual-nozzle methanol injection system and be doing a dyno tune on her. Right now she's pushing around 670 hp at the crank.Sep 10, 2008

Excellent car... best vette to date in my opinion. Real tight, quick & nimble. Great on gas too... when not on the throttle.
B&B exhaust are quite loud, but do they ever sound good
car is lowered
White is turning out to be easy to wash... compared to black!

I love this car.
Every time I am in the market for another sports car (which is every time I wreck the previous one), I cross shop those at the same performance level and those at the same price point....and twice now, I've ended up at the Corvette. At the same price point, the BMW M Coupe and Porsche Cayman S are very, VERY compelling...but ultimatley fall short. So do lower priced sports cars, such as the Mazda RX8 and the Nissan 350Z. At the same performance level, the Corvette is priced 1/3rd less and still matches or outperforms it's competitors from Porsche, BMW, et al.
Plus, its gorgeous. What's not to love?May 24, 2008

The C6 has definitely raised the bar of the American Sportscar. A truly dominant car in it's class. The driviability is the smoothest I have ever had in a Corvette, and the performance is absolutely amazing. No Corvette previously has had the fit and finish that is now standard. Most amazing car I have ever driven. May 20, 2008

0-60 in 5.4 seconds, 4.2 if you whomp the gas. 6-cylinder, 5 speed manual transmission. Black convertible top, nice wheel base, low to the ground aerodynamic, and fast

Flashy and fast is the Game that the 2006 Corvette plays. This car like those that came before follows the fast car at a reasonable price. With a 6.0 400 hp V8 that replaces the 5.7 350 hp V8, the Corvette stays relevant in the performance car market. Measuring 0-60 is no longer relevant, it is better to measure 0-100 instead. Although I never got the liberty to take this car on a twisty mountain road, it still is satisfying to drive as long as your not in traffic or have the misfortune of following a cop. The Car I drove was fitted with the 6 speed Automatic with paddle shifters. While the Slush box is able to keep the acceleration close to that of the 6 speed manual, the paddle shifters are not as quick at shifting as a standard manual transmission. This corvette was fitted with Borla exhaust and it is guaranteed to turn heads when you stomp on the throttle.
Like all corvettes, the bargain price creates some compromises. Although the interior is improved from the C5, it still is not fit for a car that cost about $55,000. The seats are still terrible, and when pinned in the seat due to acceleration, you can feel the framework behind the cheep padding. The steering also feels to synthetic and makes you feel sort of isolated from the road, but no worries Corvette lovers, because I believe they have addressed this in the 08’ model. While the Composite body saves weight, the rear bumper feels, well… flimsy. And when you take the car to the dealer because the targa top is rattling, pray that they don’t back the car into a Suburban.
There is certain Corvette educate that one must follow when driving, always wave to other drivers of Corvettes. Secondly, never drive the Corvette like you are driving a Cadillac, You are supposed to drive this car as if your 21. The owner of the corvette I drove is 87, and he still drives it like he is 21, fortunately it has not been impounded…Yet.

People will criticize the interior of the Corvette but if you compare to a Porsche without a
large leather package and over $10,000 worth of options I would say it's pretty
comparable. That aside, the acceleration in this car is the fastest I have experienced. The
transmission is a little clunky during around-town driving, but when you rev it past 3,000
rpm's and dump the clutch it's smooth and deliberate. The exhaust note is a nice
combination of American muscle growl with a hint of European mechanical wine from the
engine. The later-G gauge is fun to play with on back roads to see how many your pulling.
Overall just a wonderful sports car that can run with the best from Europe at half the
price.Mar 29, 2008

This is my fastest ride to date and given the way oil prices are going it may be the last of its kind. It has more power and torque than I know what to do with, can corner like its on rails, and a liberal application of the right pedal makes all but the baddest cars on the road become distant blips in the mirror. The car looks great and drives great, I only wish I could learn to harness the full potential of all those ponies.Mar 03, 2008

The car is an all around performer. However, I do have one complaint. The seats are entirely to soft and lack proper bolstering. Also, they could be more rigid. Other than that, the car is an engineering marvel!! Sleek, sexy, and blindingly fast!! There are not enough good things to say about this car!Jan 10, 2008

Basic ZO-6 was based on C6-R race car, winner of 24 Hours of Le
Mans. Stock version has 512 horse power (505 american horses). By
changing of whole exhaust system, intake system and some electronic
mods I managed to get 600 break horse power. This is a race car on
the road... Dry sump, engine and gear-box are separated, G-force
indicator, radiator for gear-box and rear axle. etc. You can drive a
Ferrari or Lambo for 3 hours may be, but then you will have to stop to
cool the brakes down, gear-box, etc. This one, you can drive 24 hours.
May be it is not that nice like a Ferrari Enzo or Lamborghini
Superlegera but the performance is dramatic !!!Dec 09, 2007
