For fans of the second-generation Ford Explorer/Mercury Mountaineer, this has all the features: V8 and V6 options, steering mount gear shift, captains chairs in the front. The third-row seating is a bonus. The headlight range is a bit better and the lift gate is a bit weird; but alls good.May 21, 2020

Strong vehicle and great on long drives. Comfortable and plenty of room for large family. I always liked the look, black exterior with leather interior, one of mercury's best vehicles by far. Does not get better than the mercury mountaineer.Jan 15, 2015

Our first SUV. Used primarily as the family vehicle but did not use it much as I had a company car that I used most of the time. Good looking vehicle overall but it lacked power when towing a trailer. Would be ok for a short distance commuter and its AWD capabilities.Feb 20, 2010
