Strong vehicle and great on long drives. Comfortable and plenty of room for large family. I always liked the look, black exterior with leather interior, one of mercury's best vehicles by far. Does not get better than the mercury mountaineer.

Not a ford guy by nature, but this SUV is absolutely loaded and the price was unbeatable. So far, I love it and it has been a quality vehicle. The only thing I would change is the color...and maybe the wheels.

Our first SUV. Used primarily as the family vehicle but did not use it much as I had a company car that I used most of the time. Good looking vehicle overall but it lacked power when towing a trailer. Would be ok for a short distance commuter and its AWD capabilities.

For fans of the second-generation Ford Explorer/Mercury Mountaineer, this has all the features: V8 and V6 options, steering mount gear shift, captains chairs in the front. The third-row seating is a bonus. The headlight range is a bit better and the lift gate is a bit weird; but alls good.
