Weekend Car. Not great for a student but GREAT reliability. I'll happily replace my transmission and rebuild the suspension again for this daily driver. D17 for the win reliability.Jan 12, 2026

This car is a class of its own. There were a zillion of these made and they hardly changed for a good stretch of years. This car on average is good for 300,000 plus miles and most of those miles will be with top fuel economy and trouble free. The junkyards are full of parts and anything you could need to repair one. Best bang for the buck if getting back and forth is your only objectiveDec 19, 2022

38MPG - this car has been great on saving gas when I am not driving my SUV. Highly recommend! White with tan interior - love the color combo. Came with 100,000 mi bumper to bumper. this car will run for 300,000 plus!Sep 10, 2012

great sound system with aux connection and 6 disc cd changer - comfortable seats - (even greated that most mid size sedans have). Is is the top 10 most fuel efficient cars - + think for yourself - Prius - on winter tires has can give you no more that 26MPG - and unable to get to 15% uphill slope - HONDA in that case on stick shift - still can defeat such a "small" uphill with even more angle and still has up to 30 MPG
+ it is multifunctional -can be used on race tracks, highly modified, can become the great commuter, nice looker and best friendMay 04, 2012

Obviously it's a Civic, so it's not going to be anything spectacular on
power, it's a peppy little car when I'm alone but when you add 3 or 4
passengers you definitely notice.
It handles great as there is a lot of suspension work done to it, and the
the tires are nice and grippy as well.
It's an 05 and it still gets up to 40mpg so I'm more than happy with
that!
I think it looks great, it's definitely not an average Civic and it's all JDM
:)
It's a very reliable car and I've never really had any major issues with it.
I've changed the clutch, but not because it went, just because km's
were getting up there and I wanted a new clutch.
Considering the fact that it's on low pro tires, and that it's lowered
almost 2" it rides very well. Yes it's bumpy and rough but not nearly as
bad as some lowered cars I've been in.
The road noise is pretty bad if I'm honest, but Civic's have always
struggled with that so I was already expecting it before I bought the
car.
And Other than that I'll just end with the fact that it's a great drivers
car, as it's light, it handles very well and it's a blast to drive. I really do

Of course there are different Civics, and this 2005 is the top of the line. With its sleek body style, aggressive performance, and outstanding gas mileage, you cannot find a better traveling car. The Civics are truly the wisest economic choice anyone will ever make.Jan 02, 2012

best looking car i ever owned, however it was stupidly slow. the gas pedal was an oppressive thing. you mash it down and were rewarded with absolutely nothing. no v-tec no acceleration no nothing. any attempt at getting anywhere fast was pointlessNov 22, 2010

Performance- not huge but enough 5 spedd fast enough
Build- excellent not on piece of rust on it
Apperance- sexy sleek hot blue
Cost- gas mileage was great. little to no maintenance that i couldnt do myself

I love the look of this car wish it was a little lower, the tail lights are not the best looking wish they were just red like the 02-03 si. Performance wise, it handles very well, braking is awesome, accelleration on the other hand is almost a joke, it has absolutly no torque stock rated at 160hp and 132torque, i actually turn off th a/c to accellerate onto the highway. if you drive it right though the close ratio gear box and high revving engine make it fun to whip around corners and makes it feel like your going faster than you are. The interior is the best part of the car recaro seats, red stiching the shifter posistion is great comes right out of the dash close to the steering wheel. the back seat is easy to get to. which makes it easy for baby seats, which is why my friends call it a mini, mini van.

Slightly lacking in power, yet new k20 is better, and smoother and previous B series. The hatchback provides plenty of cargo space when needed, and gives comfortable back seats. Although a shift location might be little awkward at first, but it can be dealt with. Nov 03, 2009

Great handling, decent gas mileage. Much roomier than you would think and lots of fun to drive. Have not had much repair work done in 5 years the car holds up really well to rough driving. Highly recommended to anyone who asks!Oct 26, 2009

My fave car, great on acceleration, braking and handling, no problems with this car, sporty looking and good to drive, cost on petrol was fairly economical for a 1.6 and the insurance was good on it to because it was an type s and not a type ROct 20, 2009

Good fast car, with good body work and rimes can become an outstanding car.
Comfortable inside, easy to find refactions and it has a very good re-sell rate.

I love the sporty look of my car. It is extremely reliable and dependable. You can do so many modifications to it, and they are fairly cheap. It is very fun to drive and easy to maneuver since it is so small! The gas mileage is great, I just do oil changes every 5K or so. The interior style is a little bland.. looking to get some Gucci interior soon. Never needed any major (or minor for that matter) repairs. I could drive to California and back 50 times ifI wanted to. It was the year before they changed the body but I like mine better than the new one.
Great value for your money.
Handles great, only have a 4 cylinder but it has good pick up.

I love my car, excellent gas mileage, about 40 mpg, but its a little small for us now. Has plenty of get up for a 4 cylinder. Had the car for 3 years with only one mechanical problem, and the was driver related. Over all a great vehicle!Jul 10, 2009

I like the look of it, the color, and the rims. I don't like that there is little room in the back and it doesn't quite have enough power for my liking. The fact that it gets 30 miles to the gallon is pretty nice. It's slower off the line, but it's pretty peppy from 30 up.Apr 11, 2009

this car drives just as well as the day I bought it. It
gets great gas mileage on the highway as well as in
the city and is about as good as you're going to get
with a Civic without moving into Civic Si's. Mild
maintenance needed, handling could be better but

Not a very impressive performance as a stock car. The maximum HP and torque are delivered at a very high rpms, which makes it very slow at the start. The biuld quality is very good, as expected from Honda. The appearance is also very good, a lot of mods. available.Aug 04, 2008

I love this car! Its pretty speedy for a 4 cylinder, braking and handling are great. Build quality is pretty good though the paint on the 6 cd changer rubs off easy =/ This car is fun to drive and is great on gas. Gets about 32-41 mpg and is pretty low on maintenance.Jul 31, 2008

Its fast, beautiful, and can take corners goin 60+mph. Trust me. This car is by far one of the funnest cars to drive. On the exterior i have a full honda factory performance lip kit and a magnaflow catback exhaust. On the interior i have suede bucket seats. Overall, a wonderful car.Jul 23, 2008

Standard racing interior package makes this little Civic much more like a solid ride without paying extra for the interior upgrade. the i-vtec lives up it's name and roaring sound make you think that it's got more horse power then it describes.
Overall performance rating? manufacturing setting won't satisfy a regular beating. have to upgrade most of the handling parts to get a great feel of the car and potentially unleash the real power of i-vtec. Jun 27, 2008

I bought this used after my 1984 Mazda Rx7 died. I was really set on getting another 5-speed and when I saw this baby it was love at first sight. I'm a college student and this car is reliable and roomy enough for me to make road trips home with all of my stuff in the back. Honda really did a great job with the Civic SI line.Jun 05, 2008
