What owners say
"Owners of the 2005 Ford Five Hundred generally appreciate its spacious interior, comfort, and reliability, often comparing its value favorably to its purchase price. Many drivers enjoy the efficiency of the gas mileage and the smooth ride, citing it as a great family car. However, some drivers express dissatisfaction with the vehicle's performance, particularly referencing the limited power of the six-cylinder engine and various reliability issues, including recalls and transmission concerns."
Great Car for family.Has all features user friendly. Excellent road grip.Value for money . Quality of this vehicle has surpassed my expectations. With Vehicle frame coming from Volvo platform, excellent road view for short people. 5 star side crash rated vehicle. Definitely recommend for friends and family
July 19, 2014Fantastic car for the money. Almost in new condition with 56k miles!
December 9, 2023I love this car. It is comfortable and handles all my daily needs well. I have not put much money into this car for repairs but the major items I have replaced have been tires and the airbag deployment thingamajig. Most reliable car I have owned.

November 14, 2013Great car, had it since it was new. Never had any issues with it, it's a great car to go on trips with. Got it wired for sound, it's also got remote start. All in all it's a safe reliable car seating for five.
January 21, 2013I like my Ford 500, because it is built Ford Tough. I also like the exterior, because it is made on the style of a luxury car. The gas mileage is okay, but not all that great. The car is very roomy, this is the largest car I have owned. It rides very smooth. I would recommend this car to a friend.
January 15, 2009Good clean comfortable car that performed well. Plenty of room for a mid size car that is dependable. Good gas mileage for the size car with enough power to do what you need to do. Just a good overall car.
January 14, 2013Great passenger car overall. What I loved about it the most was it was basically free as it was a company vehicle. Drove this vehicle very long distances (over 1,500 miles weekly) for my job and the passenger compartment and driver erganomics made this a very comfortable vehicle to drive. Mileage range was excellent for this 6 cyl. LOVED THIS CAR!
February 20, 2010This car is the best car I've ever driven! For being All Wheel Drive, we still manage to get almost 30 MPG on long trips! It's fun to drive although it does excellerate a little slower than some. I guess you have to sacrifice a little performance to get amazing gas mileage. It's SO comfortable and is very roomy. There's more room in the back seat of the Five Hundred than most cars have in their front seats. The trunk is large enough to hold 8 full golf bags. I would not trade this car for the world!
December 19, 2008When Ford made the mistake of calling the Taurus the Five Hundred and Mullaly (CEO of Ford Motor Company) knocked some sense back into the company, I wondered how this was going to make owners like me feel about having a vehicle that even Ford wasn't quite sure of. Well, I've gotten over it and this faux Taurus and precursor to the 2010 design change is what it is: a big car with an engine that's too small to energize you as a driver and looks that would make anyone say, "Eh." There have been recalls (rear brakes, harsh transmission shifts, etc) that have all affected me and my pocket book. But in the end, at 91K+ miles currently, 3 sets of wheels and regular oil changes have kept this Titanium Green honey going. It's my daily commuter. It's fine. And surprisingly getting me 27 mpg. I think it'll go another 80-90K, but that's crossing my fingers really, really hard.
November 24, 2009While the new 08 Taurus models get more horsepower, the 3 liter in my Five can still make you smile, especially at highway speeds. Car is fully loaded and we are spoiled, even has the remote start and heated seats for the cold season.
