What owners say
"Owners generally appreciate the 2005 Dodge Durango for its powerful Hemi engine, spacious interior, and reliability in various weather conditions. They enjoy its comfort for family trips and the towing capacity. However, many drivers express frustration about its poor gas mileage and the cost of maintenance due to larger parts."
Great car! Most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. Lot's of power and very easy to maintain. Looks sharp out on the town or out on the ranch. V8 engine is a must to get past those slow pokes in the slow lane!
November 4, 20142005 Dodge Durango Limited / 5.7L Hemi - auto / 3.55 4WD The 5.7L Hemi is a great engine. Ever since it came out, I wanted a Mopar with one of these. A Challenger would have been nice, but the wife needed a grocery hauler. So I bought her an SUV that would get her to the store in under 20 seconds.
October 4, 2009I did not dislike anything about this vehicle besides the gas mileage. Overall I can look pass the gas mileage when I have a good looking, dependable vehicle. This vehicle has carried my large family on trips, it has hauled trailers, and been used for moving a couple of times. Very dependable vehicle that is great in the wintery Ohio weather.

July 31, 2013Love the 4WD and towing capacity. Leather interior is nice as well as the entertainment system. Gas milage is mediocre at 13 city 18 hwy. Its fun to drive with its 5.7L hemi. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone with a need to tow or haul.
June 26, 2008love the power and driveability, the 4.7 magnum is a smooth engine, love the 7 person seating and dual heat and ac also the infinity stereo 8 speaker system
March 13, 2022Driving this beast for about 3 years and never give me any trouble touch wood, air is perfect, handling is like butter, suspension you cant tell if you go on a car or a space ship. i really like the body style.
April 15, 2015Great SUV. Very reliable transportation. Vehicle is excellant in snow, ice, rain or really any weather with it's 4 WD. The ride is very comfortable also. It is smooth and soft with no feeling of it being a big SUV or truck. Vehicle has plenty of leg and head room also, for those long trips you may need to take. Also, for hauling stuff around, there is plenty of room and even more when you lay the backseat down flat.
October 1, 2013I liked everything about my car for the most part, besides that because parts were bigger they cost more, but other than that I love my car. its great to have especially if you have a big family and like to travel,
November 6, 2014From E420 to a Durango. My previous 2 cars were E Class Sedans. Having never owned a Dodge I have been pleased with the reliability, great dealership and gas mileage! Mine is Limited with Hemi. With 155,000+ I average19 MPG. Best mileage was 24 HWY usually get 21 HWY and 16 City. For a huge SUV this is great. I looked and drove every large SUV but this had the best combination of price, size and options (not the best looking a bit like a bulldog). I ordered this and then added the extended warranty from the dealership. The lack of problems made the extended warranty a waste. I needed the extended warrantyt with my MBs. Considering I usually sell my cars at 135 - 150 K (On the road a lot for work) I plan on keeping it and rolling past 200K. It still looks good and drives well. Love the Hemi with the valve shut down. If you need a big SUV buy a Durango with the Hemi!
