Zippy small gas frugal reliable transport. Super as a standard. Reminds me of the old jagusrd. Volkswagen jetta, Old honda prelude, toyota supra, but they dont make em anymore. Great value in a small reasonably priced road car.Apr 29, 2021

This car we bought used at a cheep price at a Mazda Dealership in Vancouver, WA. It was mechanically and cosmetically sound! We did have to eventually put real tires, & brakes on it soon after purchase. But hey, we got it cheap! Super reliable since we bought it. Mazda knows how to build an engine!May 19, 2014

great car ,well built not boring inside ,looks sporty handles great,and it costs about
£60 pound to fill up but can get about 450 miles on full tank which i think is not bad
for a 2ltr engine...good boot space with many extras including rain sensor wipers

Car could not get cool. bought the car so that I had a family car but the A/C sucked.
Had to go through Lemon Law. If the air worked I would have enjoyed this car. Buy

Love the interior/exterior appearance of the car.
She handles well now with the upgrades and realignment.
Could use a bit more power... not as much as the MS3 has, but somewhere in the 200hp range would be great.
Short of a few repairs and a list of elective mods, she's been pretty cheap to own and operate.

The fact that it has a 4 speed auto with a manual override makes it a high
proformance car. not to mention the fuel mileage is amazing with the little 2.0
Mitsubishi motor.parts are hard to find though and you have to order them in that
is about the only bad thing about it. It corners very nicely for a stock car and it has

Performance
very good acceleration,very good on fuel and feels very sporty.
cons:-
need more ground clearance ,leg room,suspension too stiff
overall fun to drive and do loads of mods economical comfortable.

So this is a 2004 sp23 (sport package 2.3) hatchback, a very kick ass car, most would think mazda pffft nothing much...wrong! but this sport package is ripping the asphalt from beneath your tires, looks can be deceiving, haha who knew?Mar 03, 2010

Excellent Car!, has 160K (KM), trouble free. Still get the looks. Just changing oil, brakes, tires, air filter, oil filter (typical maintenance). Drives a lot like a German car, tight, precise steering, lots of low end grunt. Road noise can be a little excessive.Nov 12, 2009

Extremely fun to drive, feels fast, even though the stock 2.3L 4-cyl engine puts out 150 bhp and the 0-60mph is roughly 8 sec. The manual version of this car is the only way to go. This car is just a blast to drive, you can feel the road and the tight handling is just great.Nov 06, 2009

Performance- Acceleration is good for a 4-cyl, but
the fact that it's FWD isn't the best. Braking is very
good, and handling is fantastic. Even with a
mediocre set of tires, the Mazda3 is practically
glued to the road.
Build Quality- There are some rattles, specifically
"glovebox rattle", a common occurrence in Mazdas,
I've heard. Easy to fix, but obnoxious nonetheless.
Appearance- Interior is very tasteful. Build
specifically for drivers. Good amount of interior
space, too. The 2004-2009 front fascia is much
more aggressive than the new, smiley 2010s.
Cost- Great gas mpg, cheap maintenance. Overall,
awesome.
Fun Factor- This car is a blast. It will surprise you
how great it handles on back-roads, and is very

It's smooth on the turns, even at higher speeds. It's quick. It shifts funny if you try to shift it around 3rpm's, but if you wait till around 5rpm's it's really smooth. The interior is sweet too. Blue on black. The stereo has illuminating options, it's pretty sweet.Feb 02, 2009

It's a pretty good car. I like small performance sedans and this one fits the bill. I wish it were 200lbs lighter, had more camber adjustablility and had more supportive seats. I would consider buying another one, but only if the next genneration is lighter and has 7 inch wide wheels instead of 6.5 inches wide...Oct 31, 2008

super fun to drive, spot on , gives fast feedback, spacious has a nice booth i fell very secure having 8 air bags around me , abs, esp.
its a very low car so i have a low center of gravity good for fast turning and sharp corners .

I think this car has almost all good features than bad ones. It is what it is but does it better than it's rivals. Performance is great, really fun car to drive (specially with manual transmission), interior quality is superb. Exterior styling is good from certain angles specially the rear but not the front "it's just me". Mechanical quality is average if not poor. I highly recommend extended warranty on this vehicle you might need it. Major fixes have included; new engine mounts, new intake manifold, new belts that Mazda will claim they are good for the life of the car. This has all happen over 80k miles.Oct 06, 2008

I absolutely love the gas mileage, which is almost 30 mpg. It's not your boring "mommy" vehicle, it gets up a GOES! Mazda is one of the fastest growing brands. So far I have nothing to complain about on the maintaining it. It has an awesome color, which is only made for 2004-2005 models. We will buy another Mazda when this one wears out.Sep 16, 2008

Back in 2004 I went looking for a 2 year old Honda, Toyota or new Hyundai, but after one test drive on of the Mazda 3, it was game over, and the cost was only a couple thousand more than those 2 year-old used competitors' cars.
This car has been great, it's a joy to drive, gets good mileage, and I plan on keeping it until the wheels fall off.Aug 12, 2008

It was my mothers car. I drove it to school alot when she wasnt working. Very reliable. Great stero for a stock car. Allthought if you were over 6 foot tall, the back seat wasnt the best only because your head would be touching the roof. May 24, 2008

Comes stock with a 2.3l 4cyl engine with 163 hp and 158lb/ft. Mazda never fails to release very nice cars that are fun to drive without a huge price tag. The interior of these come stock with cloth bucket seats. A 6cd changer. 6speaker system (w/ option to upgrade to a Bose). Keyless lock, pl, pw, CC and audion controls on the stearing wheel. Anti-theft alarm and protection.

The car handles very good, it is pretty peppy, I love the looks, very sporty with the functionality of a hatchback, however I would rather have a Speed3 which is capable of 155 mph and 0-60 in approx 5.5 seconds.Mar 22, 2008

This is an amazing car! Optioned to the gills for less than $19k, and far better equipped than cars costing much more. This car has a six speaker stereo system with six CD indash changer, electroluminescent instruments, tire pressure monitoring, xenon (HID) headlights, automatic brake force distribution, eight airbags, ABS, power everything, moonroof. The only options I didn't get were the automatic, the navigation system, and the leather seats. I wanted the leather, but couldn't find one silver with black leather with all the options I wanted.Nov 30, 2007
