Bought my Pontiac Vibe GT used a fews back, and has been extraordinarily reliable! Only had to put new tires, oil changes every 3,000 miles and added Toyota coolant and have had zero service issues. I am very happy i bought this car instead of overpaying for a Toyota Matrix XRS which is literally the same exact car, engine and parts. Looking forward to driving it until the wheels fall off or giving it to my son when he turns 16.Apr 22, 2023

This vehicle is new to my wife and I, and will take over for our Aveo as the weekend and trip vehicle of choice due to the convenience of the automatic transmission. It also replaces my wife's Metro as her daily driver to and from work. We purchased this vehicle after exhaustive research. We had narrowed our search down to the Vibe, the Toyota Matrix, and the Honda Fit. We preferred the styling of the Vibe over the Matrix, as well as the lower price tag. The Vibe won out over the Fit due to a lower price tag, more creature comforts, better seat quality, and a slightly more spacious interior due to the larger footprint. Our main search criteria consisted of a vehicle capable of obtaining a minimum of 28/34 city/hwy mpg, and which possessed power accessories, cruise control, an automatic transmission, excellent seat quality, interior space, cargo storage, and reliability. The Vibe met all of these criteria and we are hoping it will be our primary trip vehicle and family hauler for the next 6-8 years, until we need access to a vehicle which can seat 6. At that point, the Vibe will likely serve as my daily driver to and from work. I have recorded exactly 32.5 mpg on our first tank of roughly 50/50 city/hwy driving.May 28, 2013

I love my Vibe. Really a nice family, multi purpose car, simple, reliable, cute. Great Cargo space, with both back seats you can bring down, then you geta nice big and flat space , for example furniture, guitar amps and drums. Low on Gas. But its not a sports car. Though there is this button you can press when you feel a little more "wild". Forgot the name. Sort of like a "Turbo" feel to it. LOL. Over Charge I think. Neat. I'd buy another one exactly the same. Serious. I wonder why they stopped Production. Same as the Toyota Matrix. I guess that's why. And the Economy Crash we experienced.Oct 05, 2012

It is really a sports car in disguise, very quick acceleration and great handling, will run up to 135 no problem and the 6speed tranny really saves gas, 34+mpg! I like to challenge guys in built up hondas or other tuner cars, they think I'm crazy until I blow their doors off! 180hp stock!Dec 09, 2010

I love the peppiness of the GT. 180 HP out of a 1.8L that's impressive! Hugs the corners and it's very responsive. Braking is incredible and you can put alot of miles on them. Gas mileage is in the high 30's if you baby it.Nov 02, 2010

I got this from a trade with my parents. This is the reason why I was able to get my current 2G DSM. It got wonderful gas mileage and was cheap to own. Resale value was high and overall was great for the 2 months I had it.Jun 15, 2010

Very fun car to drive, it can get up pretty high and is easy to throw around. It doesn't break down, but it does feel beaten pretty quickly. Average looks. Sips gas and oil, but tires do go. Once again, very fun and versatile.Jan 15, 2010

Amazing in circuit racing or autocross but quite slow in a straight line. I have it lowered 2.5 inches on Tein S-Tech coils. Borla exhaust and Cosmo cold air intake give it a very unique and tasteful tone for a four cylinder. Since almost every part on the car (mechanical) was built with the help of or solely by Toyota, it is indestructible pretty much as long as it's maintained, and I maintain it to a T ;) All of my friends know it is a very unique and fun car. not the fastest or most attractive but I love her.Jan 08, 2010

Nice car to have. pretty good on just about everything. it can go fast when you want it to and gets great gas mileage. it is defiantly a fun car to drive. but not so much in the winter. could be an all wheel drive but didn't get it.Dec 10, 2009

Performance is great I drove it like a typical US car until I read that the power curve Starts at 6000 rpm+ red lines at 8200. WOW what a difference. the car is light and sporty. 28-40 mpg is the range I have gotten from my GT. I run full sythetic oil in the engine and transmission, trans axle, K&N Filter,You can put an AMAZING amount of stuff in this car. 110volt inside plug in, passenger seat folds forward to supply you with a table. it's a bit light in the wind and on snow But I live in SD where we have high wind & cold & Snow.Dec 09, 2009

This is the best vehicle I have ever owned, it has 100,500 miles on it and the only thing I have ever done was brakes and oil change every 5000 miles. AWD, highway gas mileage 32 mpg. Oh, yes, I did buy tires at 45000 miles. Nov 21, 2009

It's OK. Surprisingly fast but with a weak clutch and lousy shift linkage on its 6-speed manual transmission. It has very comfortable seats, good interior space, very flexible. BUT pieces break and fall off easily. I regularly get 27 mpg in a mix of highway and around-town driving.Nov 05, 2009

I expected better out of Toyota drivetrain - had to replace 5spd tranny @ 124k miles, upgraded to a six speed though. Great gas mileage, zippy little car, loaded with options - power everything, moonroof, 6-disc changer, etc. Comfy seats, and enough leg room for four people plus junk!Jul 14, 2009

I don't think that the previous owner knew how to drive a m/t, because I had to replace the clutch at 59K miles. To the tune of almost $1000. Also, my starter will occasionaly grind. I know what it will eventually cost. Great stereo, stock 16" rims, upgraded to Kumho KH16 tires, removed the roof rack's crossbars to help fuel economy, purchased genuine Pontiac all-weather rubber floormats. I paid cash for the car a little over a year ago and I have had nothing but good luck with it. I bought the car with a little over 130,000 miles on it and it know has 160,000. Short of putting 2 sets of tires on it and a set of brakes, and wheel bearing, this car has been a ground pounder. It starts every time, its been to arkansas 5 times in the last year and even did a run to Destin, Florida. Even with the motors I have no problems jumping in it and going where ever with it. The reason for this is the bullet proof toyota motor transmission thats in it. What a great car....I would buy another one.Dec 14, 2008

i love it! i bought this car to replace a crappy car. when i bought it i had my heart set on a chevy colbalt. i saw the ponitac vibe and fell in love. it is amazing to drive. gas mileage is ok. when i bought it, it was not new. so there had to be some work done to it as the previous owners thought it would be fun to put after market equipment on it, but other than that it has been a good and reliable car. Well im a toyota fan myself... this car has got a toyota engine and drive train, it is the toyota matrix/carolla s in a GM body. the 6 speed Manual tranny is fun and the second powerband above 6 grand is very nice... the 8000 redline isnt bad either... Jun 24, 2008

Sporty, can haul 5 people, cargo space to move large items, and fun to drive. Can't ask for anything better. The Vibe GT is really practical vehicle. Epecially when you have to move stuff. It also has a "wild" side when you get into the higher RPM levels. Handles well and it's fun to use the six speed manual transmission on the twisty roads. I lowered my Vibe GT, added the TRD cold air intake, and a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust. It runs like a champ! It's also the only car where you can plug in a blender and make margaritas as well. hehehe Overall, Pontiac did a good job teaming up Toyota in making this vehicle. Apr 25, 2008

It's my Dad's car but, at the rate I wreck my cars I drive it a lot. It has crazy good handling and it feels great to drive. The brakes are bad but that's just because my dad killed them. It is a tad bit under powered though. It still gets up there, trust me! But it can be sluggish.Apr 04, 2008

I love my car, but it dies in the middle of the night because the lights come on when the temperature drops. It is great on gas and sits very well.It has enough room for me, my husband and our two children with room to spare. I would be completely satisfied if not for this one problem....but it is an annoying problem.Jan 25, 2008

I have 70,000 miles on my 2003 vibe and until now it has been a great little car and has driven me across the country several times. However the transmission is going out. There are bearings going and I am replacing the transmission. A manual transmission failing at 70,000 miles is unacceptable. So as long as this holds up I am planning to drive this little car for a long time. The car now has 130,000 miles and no problems. I change the oil and drive. Since changing the transmission which was a major repair the car has been great. I use this car for everything, it has carried a few hundred pounds of wood on the roof and filled the back with bags of mulch. It just keeps starting in the morning. Jan 20, 2008

It has been a great car for my wife to drive to work. 55 miles each way. We bought it used with 12,000 on it in 2004 and it now has over 100,000 on it and we have only done routine oil, filters and tires and it still runs great. Sep 04, 2007

I love my Vibe GT. When we had our daughter, my wife's Acura Integra 2 dr. wasn't going to get us around easily so we decided to trade it in and knowing that the Vibe was really a Matrix (Toyota Corolla platform vehicle) was a good deal as far as quality, reliability, gas mileage and price. Bonuses of course were the room, versatility, style and last but by no means least performance. Later on down the road my own vehicle (2000 Neon POS) was thankfully written off and the GMC Safari that followed only lasted a year in my ownership due to gas mileage, commuting sense etc. that I went out and got my own Pontiac Vibe GT. Now our family has 2 and were are a Vibe Family. I can't say enough about this car! I look forward to a long standing and caring ownership of both cars. May 31, 2007
