Love the cup holders, drives smooth, not many blind spots. This is a good value car because the price was right, everything works, the AC blows cold air, drives fine. The paint is faded off because of the sun. I would compare this car to a Honda and a Nissan.Sep 27, 2022

Tires on the expensive side, (low profile 15's and tend to wear out at about 25, 30,000)
11 years old no squeaks or rattles, still drives like a new car. Anyone who drives it, loves it.
Even peolple who HATED the idea of a foreign car made in Korea.Oct 22, 2012

I love my little Hyundai. It's inexpensive to repair, though a lot of minor parts wore out, gets awesome gas mileage, has little to no blind spots, really comfortable seats and has lots of storage(enough for me to keep all of my random stuff plus minimum of 6 yoga mats at all times) for a little sedan. All-in-all this car has been great. It has it's faults being an '02 but nothing that affects the safety of the vehicle. I can't speak for the life of the car before I owned it in 2007, but I never let issues go unserviced and have always treated the car with care. It's been great for me. Dec 06, 2011

I have been driving this car for less than a month. Bought it used with 116,000 miles. The car has a soft ride, which is fine for commuting to work. The gas mileage is quite poor for a 4 cylinder small car (I have an automatic). But it came recommended by Edmunds as a good used car choice, and so far there is little to regret.Jul 02, 2010

Poor acceleration, and not that great on gas for being a 4banger.
over all appearance, the paint faded a lot in the sun.
it is relatively low maintenance.
I love it tho because it is a manual transmission!
The trunk is a little smaller than what I would hope for but it works gets the job done.Jun 10, 2010

Great Car. Drives Very Well. Needed A Transmisson When I Bought It. I Work As A Used Parts Salesman, So I Put One In It For Free. Very Fun To Drive. Seats Are Hard, But I Dont Care. Definetly Reccomend To Anyone.Apr 21, 2010

Very cheap car to run.. Very few problem and very very good on gaz.. I'm ablo to tow my fishing boat everywhere I go... It has lot's of storage and pretty impressive performances from a 2.0... Rust is the major problem but can be easily fix.. Apr 02, 2010

Body is weak...I mean if Stevie can fall into it hip first and put a major dent in the side, then it is definitely weak. It is a blast to drive....great in the snow. She works great so long as you are not mean to her.Dec 29, 2009

Drove the car for a few weeks but only owned it for 5 days. Was involved in a 5 car pileup (rearended and slammed into three cars) and wrote the car off. Loved the car, handled great, bought one like it after the insurance money came in as well!! Paid roughly $5000 for it from the dealership Trevor's Hyundai in Miramichi.Nov 16, 2009

I love my Hyundai Elantra GT so much, it has great amount of power with a 4 cylinder and a two-liter engine that can max out at 140 which btw is so much fun. This car is fun to drift with on gravel, back in VA I would do that all the time with my bf. You should try it sometimes. She's still running smoothly after 7 years.Sep 30, 2009

It suicks, I have nothing but problems with this car. I paid more for repairs then I did for the car. If you need a timing belt ($600) new hoses and belts ($500). Tires($300), breaks, plugs, break line and other stuff($1000). Don't buy one.Jul 23, 2009

Replaced Engine at 100,800 and tranny at 75,000. Besides that its a good car :P. Ineterior is nice, rides smooth, lots of room for passengers and cargo. Not a bad car for the price but I wish the engine would have made it past 100,000. I use Amsoil Synthetic in everything so it should have. But is didn't.Apr 13, 2009

Was a good car to drive. Never had any problems out of it the whole time I owned. Easy to keep clean and running well. Great gas mileage and fuel efficiency. Very spacious and very comfortable to drive. All of the extra features were useful and conveniently place for satisfaction.Oct 09, 2008

its an okay car but its a little small and the engine doesnt have much kick. it does come with a good stock exhaust though. Also, after it sits for a few hours the gas pedal gets a little touchy and it doesnt always respond really well right after startingSep 08, 2008

I wanted a commuter car that I could feel OK about leaving in an unattended parking lot and feeling pretty sure that it wasn't going to be the one targeted... Then I had to stop riding the bus. Then I had to get an automatic because my knee couldn't keep up with the shifting. Plus it was uninspiring and I had to spend 12 hours a week in it.May 28, 2008

This little car has been a great addition. It has been a solid little performer since day 1. I think Hyundai has come a long, long way from the days of the Excel. I've put on 12 years worth of mileage on this car in less than 6 so I have had the opportunity to get to know this car real well.
Mind you, this car is no race car, but it will confidently cruise at 80mph all day long and not miss a bit. Considering this car cost less that 15k when I got it, it was very well equipped, with leather interior, a very nice sounding stereo, comfortable seating, and even some nice extras like heated mirrors and foglamps.
This car has been a godsend, because of it's low cost to own and drive, and because it has been a very capable little vehicle. It is a 5-door version of the Elantra and with the rear fold down seating which is 70/30 split, there are different options for carrying a mix of people and cargo. I've driven this car cross country and it has consistently delivered 32-34mpg on the highway, which has given us a range of about 380 to almost 400 miles per tank without us really worrying about pushing it. Of course keeping the car well maintained has been a key factor, but definitely those are good numbers for a car that was rated at 26mpg city/31mpg highway.

I love my 02 gls. it runs smooth and it very customizable. it does tend to eat up brakes but after market companies over whole brake kits for not to bad of prices to remedy this. Apr 06, 2008
