2001 Honda CR-V: Prices, Reviews & Pictures

Front door handle broken. Window doesn’t come down. Spare tire had a rusty nail busting through it. Back driver tire was near flat. Car was on E so I had to wait to test drive. Claimed someone was coming in from out of state so I couldn’t take it to my mechanic to check. Said it was a Trade-in so “as-is” and he had no other info on car. A total waste of gas to go see!May 14, 2021

the CRV was listed for one price then they change it after I inquired on purchasing stating they put money into it. The priced jumped by 3 grand. False advertisement.Feb 10, 2020

I love these little suv's. they are cheap, reliable and can do anything you throw at it. I will keep this until the wheels fall off. I just pulled my first trailer with this and it was 1,200 pounds. I pulled it doing 75 MPH for 210 miles. Had no problems.Feb 23, 2015

The Honda CR-V is extremely reliable. No major problems since purchase in 2001. AWD works great and it is roomy for its size. it is not the most sleek and stylish vehicle on the road, but it is worth the tradeoff. Would highly recommend to anybody.Dec 22, 2014

I use this car to carry mail on R5 Hastings. It works good and gets pretty good gas mileage compared to other larger SUV's. I like that it has the gear shift on the column and nothing in the way on the floor. It's quick, maneuverable and economical and still holds a lot of mail.Nov 06, 2014

I bought this car when it had less than 5000 miles on it. It had been driven by a dealer's family member. I had a moonroof and remote start added to this CR-V. An after market back up camera was also installed. Aug 25, 2014

I love the vehicle. It holds a multitude of items and has a good get up and go. The seats are extra comfortable and has amazing leg room for people of all sizes. The turning radius is great and the handling is efficient.Jun 20, 2014

I would probably go with a newer CRV and hope that Honda has fixed the problem, which i think was due to the cylinders or valves. Once they start losing vacuum pressure, they start to fail. The engine light was always on.Aug 14, 2013

This car has all the important components of a dependable and practical car. Handling could be better but wider tires make a big difference. Gas millage is very good and if you are used to 4 cylinder cars this car will never feel like it lacks power. It also drives and handles very well on dirt roads. Feb 22, 2013

Performance - For a larger car, it accelerates well and handles well with the automatic 4wd system kicking in. Build Quality - For a 9 year old car, it is in remarkably good condition with very little in the way of repairs / rattles etc - leak from windscreen seal and rattle from heat shield, but both minor. Appearance - Fairly dated inside now, but clean and smart. Outside looks lovely - if you're into 4x4 type cars. Cost of Ownership - Only owned for a couple of months and, having moved up from a Fiat Grande Punto, this is obviously more thirsty on the petrol, probably averaging around 30-35 miles per gallon, which isn't bad for it's size. Nothing spent on maintenance yet (touch wood) and should prove to be very reliable. Fun Factor - If you like 4x4 cars, but won't actually be doing that much offroading, this car is for you. i used this for years & still quiet good enough, but the arms (eg. shock absorber) is rather weak so that i have changed twice since i have this & its fun to drive with automatic drive overall, i love my carFeb 18, 2010

I love me a Honda- my second CR-V The first one was a 1997-love a CR-V lots of room- has it own style. minor repair, JUST CHANGE oil 3,000 miles. gas mileage is great for me. it takes me skiing,camping around town and you can't bet the 4 wheel sensor, in the rain or snow.Dec 03, 2009

this car will save you soo much money on gas, especially if you drive alot like me, in 1 year i put on about 60k kilometers and i am impressed with how far i get and how much gas is required to get there. the car definatly lacks power and i do maintain my crv really well with on time oil changes and constant washing of my washable air filter. in the winter i cant complain because i have all season michelin harmony and i got stuck at one point only because a plow truck plowed alot of snow in front of my car. but all you have to do is put it into reverse and then drive again and if you are stuck on the spot you just have to turn the wheel back and forth all the way while in drive or reverse constantly and eventually break free. oh yea considering i live in canada but i bet a set of winter tires will make a huge difference but ill find out this winter because im considering some michelin X ice tires or bridgestonre blizzak. its a nice all around vehicle that will get you from point A to B while looking nice saving you money on gas and getting there without a problem. and honda is well known for reliability and im loving it. the ride quality isnt so great but at 170 kph i dont feel any vibration but mabe some wind noise but i would say thats normal for a vehicle that wasnt meant to go so fast. i dont really like the 4 speed automatic transmission either because it doesnt shift so smooth especially at full throttle. overall great car especially for those who want to keep there car for a long time and want to save money and drive alot and would like reliability.Jul 22, 2009

good build quality, four wheel drive that automatically turns on when additional traction is needed. higher ground clearance than the average car, more storage inside. vtec is the thing that is missing here but overall a good car. hoping to fit a volk wheel soonJun 24, 2009

For a small car-based SUV, the interior is very roomy and flexible. The flat cabin floor makes the front seats feel spacious. I can carry 8' lumber inside the vehicle with ease. We bought the car used in 2004, had a few weeks for a shake-down period and then took it on a 12,500 mile road trip without a hitch. Since we had a baby a year ago, we just added a Thule cargo box to the roof rather than trading up to a larger vehicle. We really like the car.Jan 24, 2009

Perfectly sized vehicle for a small family. Only fits 5, but nice and spacey and fits a lot in the trunk! Same chassis as as the civic so easy to park yet still has a lot of room.Mar 31, 2008
