Fuel economy is a real bonus and the Echo is a true petrol-miser.
Sweet engines match up well with manual gearbox.
Tall body makes for great interior space.Reliability is streets ahead of much of the
light-car class. In that regard, it's a Toyota through and through.Funky interior will
put a few off, but most like its alternative layout.

My Girlfriend's Toyota Echo Review. Performance: Good gas milage, poor transmission, acceleration not too good, strong brakes, handling is pretty good. Build Quality: Decently Solid. Road Noice is a little loud. Appearance: Looks small but is very spacious. Car is more for women my opinion. Cost of Ownership: Good gas mileage as mentioned above and hasnt had any major problems I know of. Fun Factor: Not too much fun to drive. Not a performance car. Fuel efficent, drives good, spacious for a small looking carJul 27, 2010

Small, Compact, Slow to accelerate. 5 Speed is even funner to drive. Easy handling, can fit into very very tight spaces too. Almost no repairs, 41 MPG, really fun to drive. Car is really fun to drive, little maintenance too. Oct 18, 2009

This Toyota is a compact car in size but spacious inside. The engine is a 1.5 L in-line4 cylinder! i has not torque at all but its a good reliable car! we have had ours since 2000 and we only had to put 2000$ of repairs excluding fender benders. a 2005 toyota echo can be bought as cheap as 5000$

I love my lil car. It has enough room to fit 4 of my friends comfortably, gets great gas mileage and turns like non other. I feel so spoiled by it. Its so fun to drive! Its a total chick car tho, with tons of cubbies to hide stuff. It doesn't have a great amount of power but hence the great gas mileage. If you want a lil car that's great for level or down hill trips or just your everyday life the Echo is your best bet. I was so sad when they stopped making them. Sure the new cars are cuter, but there's no head room! My friend who's 6'5" couldn't get over how much room he had in my car!Oct 21, 2008

you can buzz in to car parks that bigger cars cant fit and buzz right on out and great on fuel! although its a small car it is quiet spacey inside. its great to fold down the rear seats and chuck the dogs in the back. this is one of the best cars ive owned and it was free!!!(given to me as a gift)Aug 16, 2008

really painless to drive, had good response and what not. the ride was comfortable, and
there was more then enough room for people and cargo. Super fuel efficient. It rattled a bit
for a toyota. there was lots of body roll through turns, lackluster highway acceleration, but
cruised at 80-85 easily. wonderful little carDec 30, 2007
