I think the car is expensive to maintain and need to have buyer with cash to sell. Car doesnt have any of the navigation/GPS or other newer cam amenities such as back up cameras, etc.Jan 03, 2023

Theres a 98 Mark Viii for sale right now ( early Oct.2021 ) in Minnasoda but thats 1,200 miles from here on the shores of NJ . I already have now a 98 Mark Vii Silver Frost Metalic and a Lincoln installed Black Roof . This car is loaded for bear. It even has an engine block heater for cold weather starts. Everything works except for the DVD player and the cassette tape player. MPG isnt bad for a car this big, but high octane gas is selling for about $3.50 per gallon now and will probably go even higher. The LSC has a nice ride and is fun to drive.May 13, 2021

Luxury, V8, independent rear suspension, auto leveling. Whats not to like. Its a car ahead of its time. Built on the fox body frame its easy to upgrade and built to handle a superchargerOct 16, 2020

I have owned 4 Mark VIIIs and enjoyed each one. Very comfortable like most big Lincolns of the time, but with the added fun of the Mustang Cobra 4-cam 4.6 liter V8 . Comon issues were the A/C blend door that required a large part of dash to be removed to replace; lots of time to complete, but not that hard (Ive done 2). Drive train solid except for the coil paks and few water pump changes. Other than that, just normal maintenance; brakes, front end suspension, fluid changes. Oil filter location is a pain (put a remote filter kit on my last Mark VIII to solve that problem). But overall a fun car to own and drive. Bob-ATLOct 02, 2020

This car was way ahead of its time. It’s a big old boat that drives and rides nice. Has plenty of pep from the DOHC 4.6l motor they put in it. Not many of these left in good condition so if you want one you’d better grab one while you have a chance. Mar 10, 2020

300hp in a Lincoln. Air suspension that comes stock is comfortable, reliability is an issue though. When everything is good, it is good. When its bad, its terrible. Fun to be able to run against the new V6 Camaro and Mustang and make them feel bad for losing to a 16 year old "Grandpa's" car.Dec 26, 2014

this car is fast, you dont expect it at all, after all its a lincoln lol. 32
valve duel over head cam 4.6 v8, yes the same one used in the cobras.
very smooth all around, will push you back in seat when you floor it at
any speed...... mpg suck ass around town great mpg on the highway i
get about 26, parts $$$$, there ugly to look at, and parts are hard to

Awesome car...Built very well. 4.6L DOHC engine has plenty of power and achieves nearly 30 mpg on the highway! 290 HP & 290 TQ Looks good and rides well, even with airbags replaced with springs. Best looking interior of any car I've ever been in. Very comfortable front seats but there's not enough head room or leg room for rear passengers. HID headlights are awesome looking and work great. Distinguishing neon taillight looks really cool, unlike any other.Aug 10, 2011

I hate this car, you all know how much trouble it's given me! Stupid fuel pump, electrical fire, light system and electrical system shot. Kill me and the dumb car! Don't ever buy this car. you will regret it. Performance- bad all around. brakes are failing i think. Build Quality- rattles and i think my tires are going to fall off. Cost- about $50 to fill up each time. Fun- what?! absolutely none!Mar 26, 2010

2nd gens are slower, but they are waaaaay nicer inside. thet also have more bugs, like blend doors, funky door handles, rear neons that go out often, but they look great when on. overall, they are great cars for the money.Jan 12, 2010

No need for an introduction, if you know anything about cars. This Lincoln Mark VIII LSC is a 290 horspower 300lbs torque luxury liner. Technology is way ahead of its time including HIDs, puddle lamp and turn signal mirrors. It is very responsive and the seats are better then any other car 9/10 timesJan 05, 2010

Performance : 280 horsepower was enjoyable
Build : It was a spruced-up Ford, it had issues, lets face it.
Appearance : Ahead of its time, people thought it was new 8 years later.
Cost : 24 mpg highway, not bad for a 17-ft-long 2-door land yacht. Maintenance, on the other hand...

The 290hp 32V V8 has plenty of power and torque. Air ride went out so I replaced them with 1.5" lower coil spring conversion kit. The car is fairly nimble for the size and I so fun. Kinda sucks in the winter but is still FUN!Oct 01, 2009

Words can't describe the ride. You have to drive one. 0 to 60 in 6.0 flat. The paint still looks like it was just painted after 10 years. 27 MPG on the highway. Hugs the road like it's on rails.Aug 31, 2009

Ztrats every day for work....300HP and a posi rear with 3.73 gears. Expesivepaint to tyr to repair after minor bump. Seats are great, stock radio is more than adeqte but the air ride can be a PITA bye the fit and finish are pretty good cant ask for a whole lot moreAug 23, 2009

Overall, the car has very good driving dynamics. Lincoln did a good job tuning the suspension. The 4.6L V8 gets good gas mileage and has good acceleration, despite the 3.07 axle ratio. The lines of the car still look great even though the car is over 10 years old. This car is a keeper.May 14, 2009

I loved how it was luxury but at the same time had the horsepower to outrun or race a lot of cars. It is just a all around gorgeous and strong car!!! I would recommend anyone to get one because these cars run forever and i have not had any problems with mine!!!Apr 15, 2009

This car was 10 years ahead of it's time when it was built and can compete with any sport luxury car on the road today! It's sleek, loaded with bells and whistles and is FAST, FAST, FAST! Oh, did I mention that it's fast? Seriously, it has a 4.6 liter DOHC engine that cranks out 300 horsepower and is found in the Mustang Cobra R. LOVED this car. I loved the way it looked, the way it drove... it was a big highway cruiser that loved to tool down the backroads and could outrun most anything that pulled up next to it. I never had a major mechanical issue (well, not that was the fault of the car... a botched tune-up landed her back in the shop when a cross-threaded spark plug blew out of the engine).
If I found a nice enough one for sale tomorrow I would buy it, but since they stopped making them 10 years ago, I doubt that will happen.Nov 09, 2008

This was the sleeper car of the late 90s. The LSC version kicked up the power and added a sport suspension. In black-on-black (like we had) the car was positivly sinister to look at, but a dream to drive. I miss the luxurious interior and comfortable seats. The big 4.6l V8 engine churned out 290 hp with ease. The main reason we got rid of it was because our growing teen-aged son could no longer fit in the rear seat comfortably for long trips.Sep 15, 2008
