1994 Lincoln Mark VIII Reviews, Pricing & Specs

Performance- Very good acceleration on Interstates, but a little slugglish at a standstill. Braking and stearing are kind of heavy. Build quality- Interior is very quiet of squeaks and rattles despite being 15 years old. But some very minor parts are starting to fall off.... Appearance- It's different from most cars on the road, but I like the look of the Buick Riviera much more. Dec 06, 2009

I love my car. It is an elegant luxury car with a v8 packed into it. It gets great gas millage for a Lincoln. It is white with a tan leather interior. it has 10 disc CD changer with a jbl speaker system, so its great for one of the best things to do while driving, listening to music. It is quick and powerful. it only has 85000 miles on it and its a 94', so it is in very good condition. It is a fun car to drive.Nov 04, 2009

Always had an attraction to the Lincoln Mark series and this was one of my faves. Powerful and luxurious at the same time. Once you closed the HUGE coupe doors you immediately felt like you entered a tomb as it was almost dead silent in the cabin. Ride was silky smooth, yet firm thanks to the automatic suspension controls. The interior was beautiful with a sweeping dashboard and wide, plush leather seats and cool tech features like the built-in voice activated cell phone (nice for 1994). Can't recall too many serious issues mechanical-wise, so I would say the build quality was excellent. I did get rid of it before the air suspension went (they eventually all do on the Marks) which probably saved me a couple of grand in repairs though. Feb 09, 2009

I love this car, mainly because its mine, but the Mark VIII was a decent car. Yes, the air-ride suspension can have some issues (and with mine having over 155,000 miles it has had its fair share). Just about everything on the car runs off the alternator, and soon after we had purchased the car, about 5 years ago, that broke while on the highway. It is very advanced for its time in the sense of gadgets and other niffty things that it comes with. The engine is a 4.6L V8, so its not a slow ass, but caring around 4800 lbs (believe can't remember off the top of my head) makes it a little slower than it could be yet it can still hold its own. The transmissions need a little work or something, because almost everything you can read about them is there are problems. I know mine needs to get a trans flush soon. The Mark VIII is a great car for someone looking for a highway crusier, or a first car out of college. And they just recently had a recall on the crusie control system.Jun 20, 2008

With the 32v 4.6L motor that came in the mustang cobras this car has plenty of power. Full air ride suspension mixed with a real comfortable interior makes for a very nice ride. After owning the car for an extended period of time i found that the Mark VIII has a bad chance of developing electrical problems. Once one thing went wrong it was a downward spiral of problems before the car ended up a big green yard orniment.Apr 05, 2008

A very powerful 4.6lt V8 engine that generates 280 hp is the greatest feature of this car. It has carismatic looks just like it's bigger brother the TownCar but in fact it's a very energetic two door coupe. Contends primarily with the Cadillac Eldorado and the Lexus SC 400. I drove the one that my uncle owned on the highways of Toronto and I can say it's the best way to enjoy the American luxury sport-coupe tradition. It's a hot rod Lincoln in black-tie. Mar 16, 2008

When my father bought one of these in 1994 I hated the idea. In my eyes it looked like he was replacing the car I grew up with, his '81 RX-7 however, my fondest memories was cruising on the highway at 100MPH with my dad at the wheel feeling like we were going 70MPH. My dad's Mark VIII is also the fastest car I've ever ridden in at 157 MPH on the highway.Feb 06, 2008
