Color is great . The convertible version of the 1998 added the trunk. Plus there was a reduction of over 1500 components which reduced weight and potential rattles. I prefer the convertible model. Great carMay 14, 2023

This C5 Corvette is a jewel. Appears like a new model, fresh from the dealer’s showroom. Very well designed for the novice sports car enthusiast. My only issue was the single cup holder too small. Jan 28, 2023

This model is very sleek and eye catching the 300hp350 is very responsive it handles very well and is a great first car for anyone who wants a sports car that dont cost a bunch of money I have had many corvettes and have never been disappointed in there performance!!Oct 16, 2022

Though red is not a favorite of mine, the 1998 Corvettes are plentiful on the market, and priced right, all things considered. The standard 350 engine is reliable when serviced regularly, and is good for 200,000 miles or more. Maintenance costs are slightly higher than an average sedan due to the technology that the Corvette uses. Tires alone can be $350+ each. It also takes premium grade fuel. This one pictured is the fifth generation body style known as a C5. Theyre great cars. I have had a C4, two C5s, and am now driving a C6. Sporty and powerful, this car takes a sure hand on the steering wheel.

I would compare it to a Z06, and probably pay slightly extra for a Z06 if its a hardtop base model. The only time I would buy a base model is if its a convertible.Apr 08, 2021

In my opinion, the C5 is the best class of Corvettes and I love this car. Its the first Corvette I have ever owned and couldn't be more pleased. My wife and I love to put the top down and cruise around on the weekends, the car definitely turns heads. We don't use the car as a daily driver, but its the type of car that could be your primary vehicle. Though its a convertible, I was very pleased with the amount of trunk space (easily fits 2 sets of golf clubs).Feb 13, 2015

I like just about everything; the maintenance is a little more than I like, but it is an awesome sports car. You do have to be careful when driving over speed bumps; it sits very low to the ground, about 3.5 inches.Apr 24, 2014

Very low cost on maintenance. I spend more for wax, polish and cleaning supplies
than repairs. Actually the only maintence the car has required in 2 years, was new front brake pads. The car is only driven 1,500 miles a year.Apr 16, 2014

This is my son's 1998 Chevrolet Corvette C5. It is very unique. Ground effects, extra roof, custom hood and rear spoiler. All chrome and mirror around the engine. Interior is dressed up in black and red. Looks like a show car.Nov 29, 2012

I have had it since 2006 and use it as a daily driver, getting 26 or 27 mpg average. It is the best car I have ever owned. The only reason I would sell it is to get a newer one. Aug 29, 2012

This car was fun to drive and powerful enough to enjoy on long road trips. Had many nice features and accessories. It was solid as to fit and finish. I always worried about scraping the bottom going into driveways. Despite hoping to own it a long time, it was nearly crushed when a mini monster truck drove over its rear end. Nov 05, 2011

Bulletproof Drive train,extremely well engineered,blistering performance,great ride and ease of entry vs. my previous Vettes. Best bang per buck I have found. Plus its a convertible! Mine is a very low mileage example few mods show winnerApr 18, 2011

this car is so fast. before you can think, your at highway speeds. the styling makes it the best looking type of corvette. c5's are the best looking corvettes. has plenty of room. sounds awesome. don't have to try to do a burnout, does it effortlessly. i've gotten up to 155mph easily. 0-60 4.5 - 4.7 seconds. pretty good.Sep 10, 2009

I have owned a vette since 1969 and each and every one was very special to me. The Vette I own now is a 1998 Torch Red, black interior,this Vette was a Museum delivery car, I had the opportunity to watch as it was being built, and I was first to start it. This Vette has a lot of sentimental value and I probably will keep it for the rest of my life. It now has 8913 actual miles on it.
