mine does the same thing and its a 2002 dodge stratus and the alternator is fine we tested it we turned the car on and took out the positive and it was still on then we took it for a drive then it turned off and had the wheel locked so we put it on neutral and start it again so far its been starting but like 3 times it didnt start away so we tried it again and it started and took it home just curious on things i should do we recently bought it from someone had it for like 4 months already we just confused on what it can be we are thinking engine coils? MPG EPA Combined city`/ hwy. 22 city 33 highway.Driver and Passenger Front Airbags, Cloth Seating, Cruise Control, Power Steering, Tilt Steering Wheel. Pop the trunk and you'll find 15.7 cubic feet of storage. It's easy to load that space up with stuff too, because the lid opens up high and wide. No banged heads on protruding trunk latches here! Up front and underhood, the vital fluids are well-marked. Large block letters and yellow trim highlight the oil dipstick, coolant reservoir and windshield wiper fluid, among others. my father owns this car and it is the worst car ever made DO NOT EVER FOR ANY REASON BUY THIS CAR DONT my fathers car has has had SEVERAL major malfunctions before 60,000 k miles youll end up paying MORE THAN DOUBLE WHAT YOU PAID FOR THE CAR DUE TO ITS POOR CONSTRUCTION AND LOW BUILD QUALITY WHICH LEADS TO SEVERE BREAKDOWNSOct 20, 2009

Rear side of the right kick panel starts to rust about 10-12 years of age. Also runs over water barrels with ease!!! even from a dead stop without full throttle. Very small though for people 5 and a half feet or taller!May 29, 2009

This is my 1996 Dodge Stratus. We bought it a few months ago for $300, it needed a head gasket. We had it finished and running in a few days. I've been driving it for a month or 2 now its had no problems. Theres only 2 tiny rust spots (right behind the rear doors on both sides) but you can hardly notice it. Ok, first it is white not red. I love my car because now i do not have to wait for my mom to get home before i go to where ever i want. It works fine for me but the steering could be better. I would love this car more if it was a different color.Aug 19, 2008

When I bought the car it had 104,000 miles on it. I had to get a new water pump about six months after I bought it. Right now I've had the power steering unit replaced. All in all it has been a great car and I would buy another Stratus.Jan 28, 2008

I got a 1996 Dodge Stratus for my first car. I have had nothing but problems with the car. My dad just had to put almost $1,000 worth of work in it and the car still doesnt drive to well. The gas mileage sucks. I feel like im always spending all of my money on gas for the car. I dont think its a reliable car.Jan 13, 2008
