Designed like and drove like a mid 90's GM. It started every time. Had it's share of problems, but could get parts for it everywhere. What was once a very cool car has become a first time car for some one.!Aug 24, 2014

I bought this one from the second/fourth owner for $750.00 last October to drive to work. The car has always had it's oil changed, never more than 5000 kms. The engine is very strong but the EGR and vacuum components need work. As a result my fuel mileage is down around 24 mpg average. Other than me draining the battery twice it has always started and never stranded me.Apr 19, 2013

Well I'm a student so for the price I cant really argue. I really look forward to taking care of this car and hope it lasts. I plan on restoring it and making it better than when i got it.May 06, 2012

Great reliable comfortable car. I didn't own it for too long and sold it to a family friend badly in need of something reliable. Very comfortable to drive, and inexpensive to run. The 3.1L was quiet, smooth and adequately powered. Had decent gas mileage, very comfortable seats for taking on a longer trip, and a huge trunk for anything you want to put in it.Apr 18, 2011

Cars a great car, everything is clean and nice. It does have a motor problem, 3 weak cylinders. Cost wasnt bad for the mileage though. Over all im satisfied with the car just wish i would have had it checked out fully before i bought it.Mar 03, 2010

This car was in fair condition when I bought it in 2007. The 3.1 litre V6 was strong and sounded great with the factory dual exhaust. I can't say too many bad things about it because it was a decent car when I needed one pretty badly, $2,900 won't buy a much nicer car. Rust manifested itself under the plastic cladding from years of the previous owner not caring. Handled pretty good but understeered like there was no tomorrow. Also, it weighed 3,580 lbs. with a quarter tank of gas. Way too heavy for real "Pontiac Excitement."Oct 31, 2009

This car handles like a champ. It can take any corner at any speed, it is so heavy that it will never flip. This car is perfect for the lake, just drive it off the loading ramp...ittl float. Almost forgot, the grand prix doubles as a bomb shelter.Oct 07, 2009

It was my first car, so it was a heap when I got it. Over 150K miles, both door handles snapped off during the winter time...had PMS bc something was wrong w/ it at least once a month. CRAPSep 21, 2009

I liked the car. It was well made and solid. The 3.1 is good on performance and not too bad on gas. Brakes need repairs often but everything else is fine. It's not too expensive to fix and doesn't need to be often either. Got to love the confort and the style. It's roomy and quite pretty for it's age. Last owner didn't wash it a lot so it starts to rust from there to there but it's most of the time surface rust that I fix. The only "holes" I found were on the rockers and they're hidden by a molding...Jul 27, 2009

I'd probably be one of the far and few who would say that this car is a small hidden gem compared to most cars of it's year. Although it doesn't get the highest marks in power, it will certainly be more than enough for a daily driver.
With a 3.1 Liter from factory and it's 4 speed Auto tranny, it doesn't leave too much to wonder about in the long run. Driving down the road is a fun thing to do with it's 2-door glory. Enough power to drive were you need to go, and when you need to pass someone, pedal to the floor and feel it jolt forward from the tried and true v6 that you've come to expect, haha.
This car is a very unique thing on the road. From it's forward-facing mean-looking front end to it's ever-so-slightly raised rear end, this car looks as streamline as a Grand Prix can get. Headlights inset into the front bumper to give them that look of a car that wants to go fast, and the Grand Prix's trademark checkered rear brake lights, you'll be able to spot this beauty out of any haystack from miles away.
All and all, this car gets better than average marks for what you get right out of the box. If you want to truly bring this car to life, be prepared to fight for all the performance parts you want, but trust me, it will most definitely be worth it.Feb 20, 2009

No CD player, radio couldn't even see the clock or stations i was on. the plastice was loosening off, and i would run out of gas b4 the gas gauge said it was empty. + my uncle backed into it. I got it for 3G's. It was fun to slide around on the ice.Jan 15, 2009

Good car, decent looking, good handling and acceleration. Built crappy, though. The biggest flaw in Pontiac cars is the electrical. If you have power locks and windows, they will probably stop working at some point.
It was a tough car, though. I hit a deer and all that happened was one of the headlights was cracked. The bumper dented in, then popped right back into place.

It was old, and the pickup wasn't great, and there were so many problems with the car, such as over-heating, and then after we fixed that there were even more problems. Plus there were only two doors! So it was hard to get in and out easily without the door falling back on you.Sep 06, 2008

My car works fine no mechanical problems just some cosmetic things like worn paint and a few rust spots gets about 25 highway if im lucky gets going pretty fast brakes squeak a little normal old car wear i guess in great shape had a few things wrong when i got it but its taken care of nowAug 12, 2008

Mmmm...it's a two-door, black, has "Grand Prix Racing" decals on the windshield, the Pontiac arrowhead in the back of an extra "limo dark" tinted window, it sits a lot lower that most other '94 models, it's got that nice "Pontiac hum" when you rev it. I'm not a huge fan of cloth interior, but I guess I can't be spoiled with leather ALL the time. :-) It has neon red "sex" lights under the dash of both the driver and passenger sides.
Acceleration is great...breaks are great...handles like a true sports car. Hasn't had too many major repairs. Recently added keyless entry system.
Gets about 21-25 mpg...it's a fun car to drive...I've noticed that it's appearance makes a lot of people stare. It's a sexy beast. :-)Jun 29, 2008

Not bad for a first car. 3.4L 6 six v6 didn't do too bad til it decided to blow the head gasket....

I received this car from my parents after receiving my license, and it's been a beautiful starter. Four doors for practicality and space. A nicely designed V6 with a slightly sporty transmission.
Thus far I've replaced the audio system with a Blaupunkt deck, 2 Polk 6x9's in the rear, and 2 Polk 5.25's in the front along with mounted components.
I've also replaced the air filter with a K&N performance filter (no need for cold air just yet) and the exhaust system from behind the catalytic converter (upped the tubing from stock 2" to 2.5" all the way back to a 2.5" Flowmaster 50). With the 50 it has a beautiful purr that's very apparent below 2500rpm. But once above 2500 it's just a very soft, soothing, mellow bellow.Jan 11, 2008
