What owners say
"Overall, owners of the 1994 Mercedes-Benz S-Class appreciate its robust build quality, luxurious feel, and good highway performance. They praise features like the comfortable interior and the impressive safety attributes. However, many express concerns about the high maintenance costs, fuel economy, and some performance issues as the car ages."
Not a 1994, Mine was a 1986 420-SEL. Pretty Stout for a 4.2 Liter V8. Decent Power. Very Solid suspension, On-ramps and Off-ramps were alot of fun, especially in a car as big as it was. Gorgeous color and body lines. Chrome trim was beautiful. Overall build quality was Excellent. Only down fall was the price of replacement parts, and having to run Premium fuel in it. Traded it in for my current car (Sadly). I WILL own another.
April 8, 2009It is built like a vault. It has features I don't even know how it works (the HVAC cools the fuel line to avoid vapor lock, there are at least two air compressors for the pheunamic systems, the side windows are dual pane and move to unseal when the door is opened). It works well as long as the periodic maintenance is performed. I've had only two unscheduled events (regulator, unbalanced wheels) that I didn't cause.
September 15, 2008Mine is actually a 1992 but your meter did not go back that far. Love this car. I have owned a W124 - 1991 and this is my second W140. Excellent design, style and comfort. A great highway car. I get excellent mileage. I rum this car on veggie oil ( WVO) that I clean and recycle.

April 29, 2014Slow and Sluggish, this is what this car is about, but it does get great fuel milage, 30 or more miles per gallon at most times, the build is great, its strong, heavy like a tank, and remarkably comfortable inside, safe enough for the Kids, and its not fun to drive but you cant complain with todays gas prices
April 17, 2011performance is pretty good, appearance is like a limo, gas mileage is very bad, the maintenance is fairly expensive, the brake down level is fairly high as it is aging. the interior is simple but elegant. the build quality is perfect, as you would know its a German car
September 11, 2009Love my Car it is rather expensive on fuel returning 12MPG around town and 22MPG on Long Journeys, performance is good for such a large car 0-60 in around 7.5 secs and Restricted to 155MPH (Never been there honest ;-D Interior is well made ever after its 144000 Miles it still looks good. Had no major problems with the car and have covered 15000 miles in it since i purchased it, never broken down. And its a great car to drive
August 20, 2008350 horsepower of luxury with classic MB looks. Built like a tank, moves like a sports car. Designed way ahead of its time. Heated rear power seats, rear vanity mirrors, one touch sunroof/window close, rear power shade, self leveling suspension, 11 speaker Bose system. Repairs hurt but it'll last forever.
