Lightweight car with approximately 170 HP, in my opinion it has plenty of power. Engine is 2.0 L in line 4 cylinder with twin overhead cam. Close gear ratio, will easily top itself out in 5th gear around 130 is my guess. 4 wheel disk brakes, no drums, and wide tires give it a little more grip for braking. No anti- lock, so decently easy to lock up the tires. Very tight car, handles very nimbly and very fast around corners. front wheel drive makes it very easy to control in a corner. If the back end starts to rotate, you just punch it and it pulls it back into line. Got the car used with a hammered engine. the previous owner drove it hard and was neglectful of oil changes and other maintenance. Put a used engine in, and expect the engine to outlast the car. Exterior is a tiny bit on the boxy side, being an older car. White paint, in need of new coat. two door with a small spoiler. definitely sporty looking. Gun metal 5 spoke rims. Interior has dark grey cloth seats, dash is gray plastic. Front seats are amazing for autocrossing, because they hold your sides very securely. Because I increased the timing to 18 degrees before TDC, I need to put 93 octane gas in the car, so that makes it a little more expensive. Still gets avg 28-30 mpg so not bad for a little 2.0 L sports car. I don't have an accurate perception of maintenance costs, because I buy parts and install them myself. Cost of parts are cheap though. For me this car is a blast to drive. I know most men love shear power and speed when they get behind the wheel, but I tend to lean more towards how fast a car goes around a corner. It still has a decent amount of power (enough for the torque to yank the steering wheel out of your hand) so it's not slow. But it's made for the turns.Dec 06, 2011
