Phenomenal car to drive and own. Comfortable and well made, Easy to drive. Not the fastest car but certainly a well rounded car. Fair handling fair acceleration, and nice top speed. Easy to work on and parts are reasonably priced. Nov 17, 2011

another project i started,the shell had not one spot of rust,solid floors,just dented
shaved the hatch on it and relocated the licence plate into the rear bumper,the car was lowered 1 1/2 inch was a beauty!Sep 08, 2010

This is an amazing car. parts are dirt cheap and easy to find. working on the car is like playing with legos when you were a kid. it could always use a little more power, as most cars do. but the handling around tight corners is superbFeb 13, 2010

it's a really great and cheap car with good sound posibilitys.
clean and nice exterior not the worst engine but still fun to drive and "race" with :0) the handling is very good in tight bends and on dirt roads.Jul 07, 2009

I Love this car, it handles well and I love driving it. It is however getting old so parts are starting to wear out.
Im fixing things as I go along and plan to do a full re-furb, inside and out.
The pic is of a 3dr 16v GTi where as mine is a 5dr 8v GTi.
I'd recommend a Golf to anyone who was hesitant about buying one, thet're great fun to drive and very reliable.Mar 17, 2008
