What owners say
"Overall, owners are very satisfied with the 1991 Chevrolet C/K 1500, praising its reliability, performance, and build quality. Many drivers appreciate the strong acceleration and fun driving experience. However, some noted concerns about the need for frequent repairs and power limitations in certain models. The general sentiment is that with regular maintenance, this truck can last a long time and is a solid choice for those in need of a dependable vehicle."
The 5 speed manual is fun to drive and offers many practical uses. Though it somewhat lacks in power, it is more gas efficient than the V-8.
January 6, 2008this truck honestly will last forever, give it basic care and you can easily take it to a quarter million miles. Look on the roads and you still see a crapload of this truck driving around, and nowhere near as many early 90s ford or rams, they just don't last like a chevy.
July 7, 2012The 350cid small-block V8 has plenty of torque and power. The transmission is a 4-speed (w/overdrive) and is very responsive and kicks down fairly quick when you punch it. The beauty of the drive-train is the rear-end, a limited-slip posi. The interior is simple, yet effective and the gauges are easy to read. It handles like you would expect a truck to handle and the ride is actually better than what I expected. The truck is very easy to work on and is quite reliable. The gas mileage sucks, but that is expected in an older truck. The styling is simple but not too simple, everything flows together smoothly. Overall this is a very good vehicle and can be purchased for quite cheap. However, you get a whole lot of truck for a little money. The gas mileage is one of the few downsides.

July 6, 2010blue and silver work truck, faded paint 217,000 miles still running strong. NO problems ever. had since new. will probably never get rid of it. Very fun to drive mostly because it is stick shift. sadly the ac is broken
July 13, 2009chevy broke the mold with this truck granted my truck has a few aftermarket mods on it like; a k&n filter, no cat, flowmaster super 40 truck exhaust, poweraid throttle body spacer, a built 700r4 tranny with a shift kit and cooler, and a posiand im also pushing 32/11.50 tires. my truck beats any gas rig from the era and runs great everyday i haul firewood and cattle with no problems this truck was bought in 93 by my parents and now i have it and it still runs amazing. the po
February 6, 2010One of Chevy's best truck designs (I thought) were the models they had during the 90s. This was my first car, and in some ways my first love. She had 74,000 miles on her when I got her... and 273,000 miles on her when I traded her in. I have never loved owning a car more than this one. This truck was as reliable as the day is long. The only things ever replaced were wear items (and the transmission once, but that's because my step-father used it to pull a trailer that was far too heavy) and the rear end (once). 3 batteries, 2 alternators, one water pump, one rear end, a LOT of oil changes and a few tune-ups and this truck never ever let me down. The only time I was ever stranded was when the aftermarket alarm went on the fritz. If you need a truck, buy a Chevy. You'll thank me later.
November 9, 2008The 6.2L chevy diesel is one of the worst motors chevy has made... The nickname WHITE GOST comes from my father inlaw cuz he says the truck likes me. It has no power, braking sucks, handling??? Its a 1991 so the build quality is very good along with the appearance. All and all it is a very fun truck to have. I smile every time I hop in it and fire it up with that nice black cloud. The one thing is that everyyone knows its me when I'm in the gost.
October 31, 2010It's better made than any of today's trucks, and it uses its power more efficiently as well. Acceleration: if you tromp it, you will leave two really good black marks, and you will reach 60 mph at the high end of second gear. It handles well... for a truck. No squeaks, no rattles, all I need is a new air conditioner, but this one lasted 15 years, so bravo. The appearance would be better if my friggin cats would just stay off of it! Needs a buffing... Eats the miles, gets 21 mpg at 70 mph. Not so good in town, though. I will never sell it.
September 3, 2009its ok its old and yet still runnin strong it has problems like 5.0 liter V8 is not as powerful as it should be the only problem my grandpa had with it was the EGR valve had 2 be replaced 3 times @ $40.00 and 3 times in almost 20 years is pretty good
