The 5 speed manual is fun to drive and offers many practical uses. Though it somewhat lacks in power, it is more gas efficient than the V-8.

this truck honestly will last forever, give it basic care and you can easily take it to a quarter million miles. Look on the roads and you still see a crapload of this truck driving around, and nowhere near as many early 90s ford or rams, they just don't last like a chevy.

The 350cid small-block V8 has plenty of torque and power. The transmission is a 4-speed (w/overdrive) and is very responsive and kicks down fairly quick when you punch it. The beauty of the drive-train is the rear-end, a limited-slip posi. The interior is simple, yet effective and the gauges are easy to read. It handles like you would expect a truck to handle and the ride is actually better than what I expected. The truck is very easy to work on and is quite reliable. The gas mileage sucks, but that is expected in an older truck. The styling is simple but not too simple, everything flows together smoothly. Overall this is a very good vehicle and can be purchased for quite cheap. However, you get a whole lot of truck for a little money. The gas mileage is one of the few downsides.
