Bought my Daytona 3 days ago it came home for a great price tag. The red paint needed waxing, have started with a few minor repairs. I am the 2nd owner, and was well loved and maintained. I would love to keep it on the road for another 23 years.

Dodge had paint issues...in other words, the paint peeled off. On the upside, this was my wife's car so I got it for free. About a year later, the headliner came down. I found a place to fix it for $129, but just as he was pulling the car into the shop I saw a sign on the wall: "SALE! Sunroofs installed, $79.99". So I got a sunroof, which fixed the headliner issue. Car currently has no motor,tranny and rear suspension. being built into a race car.

I have the Daytona ES with the Turbocharged 2.5 liter. It has a ported head and a Mopar performance cam in it. It's also had the balance shaft assembly removed. Even though it has the stock teeny Mitsubishi Turbo, it's pretty quick. Just had new front brakes installed. Great for getting from point A to point B reasonably fast and very comfortably. Cushy velour seats and power everything. It's definetly had it's fair share of problems since I've owned it though. Blew a head gasket awhile back (since been replaced), needed a new rear main seal and trans. pan gasket, it eats alternator belts (but hopefully that's fixed now), leaks water in from one of the quarter windows, and it runs rich and idles poorly upon initial start up. With all it's faults I still love the car. It looks sharp, has gobs of torque and power. It's good on gas and is a blast to drive - especially on twisty country roads. It also handles roads well in the wintertime which is a plus since I'll be taking it North to Minnesota with me.

Its quick, go-kart like, pretty, rare, sounds nice, was decently reliable, and gets alot of attention. I always loved driving it through the high school parking lot after school and making noise. I always had people coming to me to talk about it just after seing me drive it; whether i knew them or not. It has been so much fun!Jul 24, 2009

This car is not for people who know nothing about cars, most of them were beat hard and never maintained. They are alot of fun, they are rare and can be mildly modified for cheap. T- tops are awsome but come with consequeses, body flex can sometimes be detected, however its no where neer as bad as a convertable anything. The brakes on this car are rediculous, 11'' vented rotors all the way around plus a SSB hose kit I added. Performance wise I did a DOHC swap to this car and with the proper tune this engine is capable of over 350hp safely, more if willing to put pistons in danger of melting lol. Fuel milage hahhaha thats the funny part, sure you have to run premium but this thing will get 35mpg on the highway, but get into the boost alot and that number goes waaaayyy down.Jul 23, 2008

Well, my first car would have to be the 1989 Dodge Daytona c/s with the turbo II. It sat for about two years so it got flats on the bearings. well with that known i blew the engin in about a month. it spun a bearing. after a new motor and a new after market turbo the car has stayed strong. i get about 12 pounds of boost, so yeah. i have been able to blow past a 2007 scion tc going up hill in a street race, so i think that is car is worth it.Jun 24, 2008

The car is a true throw back to the 80's with the fact that it has T-tops.
Granted this was the last year for the Daytonas to have this option, the
car is actually rare, being the fact that it is just an ES model with that

when i bought this car it sucked, i did so much to it, and fell completly in love with it, it needs a bit of work at the moment, im just waiting for it to warm up a bit before i do some work on it, then it will be on the road again.Feb 12, 2008
