Black XR-7 5.0 auto. Great gas mileage, awesome performance. Didn't have to make an appointment to pass on the highway. Very economical in my 130 mile daily commute. Comfortable driving position minimized fatigue on long trips. I wish I never sold it!Dec 29, 2008

Lots of Torque, heavy but with good reason, the car was loaded for 1988. Best thing about it, it was built on the fox chassis. So most 79 to 93 mustang parts would fit. Mileage was good on the highway thanks to 2.73 gears in the axle, but in town left something to be desired.Oct 02, 2008

I loved this car, this was my 1st car.. the motor was a 3.8L V6, had decent power and overall pretty solid, the entire time i owned it, the only thing that needed replacing was a power steering pump which required a special tool. I owned that car for a little over 1 year and at times wish i kept it. I had a stereo system in it, a strobe kit in the reverse lights, headlights and interior as well.Apr 04, 2008

It worked for as long as it could have been expected. The comfiest seats ever, but a lack of cupholders was distressing.Mar 14, 2008

Mine was my mom's and thus was an odd "purple-ish" silver color. But it was a very nice car.Feb 22, 2008

This is the second cougar I have owned and this one is the lesser model, but still a good car. I picked it up for $300.00 2 and a half years ago and so far only had to change the brakes. This car handles amazingly, has low kilometers and has a like new interior. She has a 3.8L EFI v6 that can get 800km to a tank highway driving.Feb 11, 2008

"If you can get it started it's yours"
This is an original, untouched 88 Cougar... It's nothing overly special, but with only 57 000 kms.... Pristine paint and interior... who could say no? It was given to us by a relative who hadn't driven it in over two years.....
The car has a fully loaded burgandy interior... 3.8 litre V-6... And has spent it's entire life kept in doors when not driven...
As soon as winter breaks, it's off to Ron and Bills for some minor paint work....then back on the street for some more Klicks!Jan 31, 2008

i had alot of problems with this car, leaked oil and antifreeze. brakes warped. power window came off track when i first got it, brakes failed once and broke the brake fluid container, shocks were bad, felt like a boat. new engine at 90,000. blew head gasket at 150,000miles. i guess that kind of stuff happens to a car after 20 years. and the fact that its a ford.Jan 30, 2008
