Performance is horrible and the car is way to heavy. Well the build quatily is ok but if you want a nice ride buy an infiniti or a lexus.. Style is ok but to tell truth its more of a girls car. It use to be my moms car.. she passed away in 07'. So I cruise it in her memory . If u want a gas guzzler this is it. Well what else u want it weighs 4000lbs. Its fun to drive but dont expect to race anyone.. You will loose. And would you believe someone actaully used a 02 cougar and made it into a Bugatti Veyron? I couldnt believe it but the body is perfect for making a nasty kit car but why would anyone keep a 170hp engine is strange. You want a fun car, my other car is an infiniti G. Now thats fun and great on gas.Sep 27, 2010

It's a lot more care than one expects. I have owned it since new and it's holding up very well despite me. The interior is stylish and made of good materials. Even after ten years, there are no squeaks or rattles. The upholstery is durable and attractive. The car's performance is decent, but more power would be good. The only trouble has been fuel pumps, which is endemic to Cougars. Gas mileage is low 20's with a manual transmission. Handling and roadholding are very good, way better than expected. This car has the sporty suspension from the Contour SVT / Mondeo ST200 so it corners well while still providing a comfy ride. The Duratec V6 is actually a pretty sophisticated piece and is relatively rev-happy. It's got chain-driven cams which is nice as the car ages. Valve timing stays more precise, and there's no expensive timing belt job to be done.Sep 25, 2010
