Scirocco mk2 16v 95KW 129HP
Performance: Still can beat newer sports cars in acceleration 8 sec. from 0 to 100Km/h,
Brakes : Great- Disc brakes on all four wheels.
Handling: pure fun to drive, and still comfort enough.
Build quality: If you return to 1986, when this car is produced you won't find better quality car so for that is 5 stars, but if you take a peek at new cars, you can see that he can't compare so overall build quality is 3 stars
Every scirocco mk2 has problems with rattles, so you should check dashboard, and exhaust heatshield seems t be bigger rattle maker.
Appearance: if you got car in mint condition it will look so damn good, that even nowadays girls will like it.
Cost: parts ain't so expencive, if you find them, but it has a lot of parts you can use from golf mk1/mk2, so maintenance is peace of german cake.
gas mileage is pretty good for car old as that so it is about 35mpg.
Fun Factor: this car is one adrenaline booster machine, has nice exhaust note and it's apsolute pleasure to drive...Sep 26, 2009

This car was AWESOME! It was hot off the line and had ballls all the way to top end at 120, took a bit of work to get it to 140 though with a little modification this little car could really kick some ass. It handle corners at top speed perfectly but, what else would you expect from german engineers?? Apr 27, 2009

VW really made a mistake leaving behind the Scirocco I styling of Giorgetto Giugiaro, however the car was updated to be more plush, and did have a great fit and finish. Adding the 16v power plant finally gave the care decent power, even though the curb weight suffered with the new design.Jun 07, 2008

Its a quick fun car to drive, I love going for drives all the time. people told me driving would be fun at first but become a chore, for me driving is as much fun as it was the day I began, and I think thats because of how much fun it is to drive. Its also mostly reliable except that I'm under the impression that my car is cursed and hates me... I Love it though! I just haven't quite figured out what was wrong with it when I bought it, but it still runs and drives like a dream.Apr 04, 2008

The car is not heavy and built like a typical Coupe, with small rear seats but spacious boot. Didn't have the car for long time because suspension wrecked, but it was already old. Normally, this type of car is quite reliable.Jan 12, 2008

My 1st ever car! Loved the Scirocco!
Having the 1.6lt 8V (which gave around 85-90bhp I think) engine, it wasn't anything spectacular in terms of performance, the car delivered more looks and visual impact than actual driving thrills.
Still it was one of the rare coupes of the time and had so much character in its design. Very solid and fabulous runner without any problems
Everythign was stock in this car apart from an electronic ignition and custom exhaust which made a music like-bassy roar :)
I've bought this one 3rd hand in the summer of 1994 and sold it two years later on 1996. Very solid and fabulous runner without any failures despite it's age, it took me all over Europe twice!
Volkswagen doesn't make them this good anymore :)
