1986 Ford Transit Cargo Reviews, Pricing & Specs

Being my first vehicle, this van took me through my first experiences of Maltese driving. It used to sleep outside and the "touch and go" feature of its wonderful DI engine helped in taking my sleep to the very last minute before waking up and make my way to UOM. Moreover, there was a cement platform at UOM (ring road) which I first discovered and identified as a parking place.....I had this reserved place for an entire sholastic year..... Eveneings were more hectic, I used to work as a travelling salesman..... "reverse" and "first" were under test all the time....and what about the self-starter mechanism? I recall changing the toothed lining on the flywheel on two occasions..... This van suffered from heavy doses of rust all round, thinking that its end of life was fast approaching I decided to let it go for a very cheap price.....just for scrap.... Scrap in Malta? hehe you're joking, it was revamped again and is now in the hands of a plasterer seeing those greyish gypsium boards......ehehhe Transits are reliable vans. Aug 23, 2009
