Mass Airflow Sensor isn’t made anymore. And parts for other things on Vette are becoming hard to find.
That being said. I’ve had 2 of them back in the day and were great cars.

This is my first corvette and it has not disappointed. Fast strong and stuck to the road. You look out over that long hood and know that its just you and the motor and she inspires you to use all 230 horses. Confidence is what this car makes in spades, you know she will run wild but the brakes also will regain control and bring to you down to reality when needed. She temps you to hit corners faster and hammer you way out.Feb 06, 2015

Not for show. Needs to be driven to really enjoy it. With the top off it is very enjoyable to travel around in. It was an everyday driver for me until I retired. Now it is an occasional ride on nice daysSep 26, 2014

I fell in love with the looks of this model when it came out in 1984 but I waited until the '85
model to buy one. I have owned it since new. The car has always lived up to my hopes.
after 28 years it still turns heads.Apr 18, 2013

i bought this 1985 corvette with 3200 original miles on it,drove it home and it has resided in mygarage ever since.i have driven it a total of 700 hundred miles, this car is not a driver or weekend car.it is driven once or twice a year and not very far.i would like to really drive it more and get to know it better but i think it should be kept as an investment car and for someone else down the road to do the same.Jan 14, 2013

Like: I like the new carburated 350 engine. The factory fuel injected engine has been replaced with a higher HP 350 with a simple Edelbrock Carburator. It gets 20 MPG, no computers to deal with, and winds out quickly.
Dis-Like: I dont like the plastic interrior, which is typical for the 80's model Chevys. I dont like the electronic dash cluster. Difficult to view. Ride is terrible, but is a sacrifice for road handeling. Jun 21, 2012

This car is a great car to drive. It turns alot of heads especially when you have one when youre 16-19 years old. It handles great, but can feel a little loose in rear end because it is so light. As a stock car and before someone really beats on it the build quality of these cars is great, just don't get in an accident, they're fiberglass.
They are not the fastest corvettes made because of the gas crunch of the time and thanks to EPA. They are one of the first good handling corvettes made. Be carefull in buying them though, alot of people like to cover up accidents on these cars, and it can be difficult to find them in good shape. As I was repainting mine, I had to sand through 13 layers of paint, 3 of which were top coats, so this is the 4th time this car has been painted.
Cost of ownership?????? Comon, it's a corvette, everything for this car is double what it is for any other car.... it does get surprisingly good gas mileage though, when youre being nice to it. Oh and the manual tranny in these made a huge difference, Ive driven both and my automatic is sooo slow compared to the manual.
Overall this is a very fun car to drive, a bit bumpy as you can expect from an 85 street car, but more cost effective for low budget people, and also still a head turner.Sep 08, 2010

The performance is more than what you would expect from a sports car. The handling could be a bit better, but it is about what is expected in a car like this. The build quality is pretty good, I have had a couple rattles repaired, and I decided to get it changed over to automatic transmission because I was sick of shifting the manual. Not that I had any problems with it. The appearance is breathtaking! I love the lines to it, and I love how I can just take the top off and go. Interior fit and finish could be better, the materials can feel a bit cheap, but I am not complaining. It defineley takes some practise to get into it without hurting yourself (for guys especially! I hink you all know where I'm going) and you really have to watch the sharp corner of the window glass in the door when it is up. I myself have come pretty close to getting hooked on it. Gas mileage is alright in this car, it is very light in weight so the gas is about the same as what you would pay in a smaller 4 cylider SUV or wagon. And of course it is fun to drive! I will take this over any newer high performance car any day!Aug 17, 2010

The engine is a torque monster, not too much horsepower. The independent rear suspension leaves a little to be desired on launch. Gas mileage is good, but at 25 years old, the car is a little tired. Suspension is harsh, but it holds well. Mar 18, 2010

The '85 Corvettes had a lot of squeeks ansd such due to a lack of time to refine the car's flaws before it hit the market. The power and accelaration are great for an 80's car! I'm not a big fan of the digital dash thought. Nor do I car for square interiors. Over all though, I loved this car and feel that I made a huge mistake by getting rid of it.Dec 04, 2009

I like the looks. It is beautiful and feel it is one of the best looking cars on the road. It is also nice and fast. Unfortunatly when you store them they tend to leak fluids. Overall it is a fun car to drive with the top off on a nice sunny day.Jan 09, 2009

Very rough ride, rust on muffler and floorboards, still extremely fast relatively cheap with low mileage, 77k for $2800. Handling was acceptable. electronic dashboard was really interesting. looked great on the outside, not so much on the inside, 19 mpg, looked good on the hood but had lots of rust on the hood Aug 29, 2008

Good performer of its time and classic body style that still looks decent. Great availability of aftermarket parts as it still has gen 1 small block.
Flexible chassis though so it will need some reinforcements if track duty is your style. Recommended for a d-i-y guy that is looking for a cheap track toy. Jul 25, 2008

it's a corvette. great lines and looks, missing about 100 horse-power.
but this car can get up and go i've had it up over 140mph, push the pedel down at highway speed and it takes off, the ride is smoother then earlier years, with alittle more int room.May 25, 2008

I drove that car when i was 13 turning 14 about 2 years ago. It was awesome to feel that car rumble when you revved the engine. you just took off when you hit the gas, the 1 i drove was a stick shift too so you got a little extra kick. It was my grandfathers car so i drove it a bunch of times. It was amazing.Mar 17, 2008
