I like everything about it. The only thing I don't like is my wife annually asking me when we're going to sell it! Seriously, I have 700+ hours of labor of love in this car - even so far as three coats of POR15 on the under carriage. It's been a pleasure to own and drive. GREAT CAR! I have a 1984 300zx and I am the original owner. I also have a 1990 300zx and a 2003 350z. I still love driving this car after 29 years. I still drive it just about everyday. I will truly miss the 84 more than the others when it is gone someday. It has been much more comfortable on long trips than the newer Z-Cars. These old 300zx cars are not as fast as the newer cars but are much comfortable to drive, they are quieter inside (less road noise) and a much smoother ride. Mine is a 2+2 and when I fold down the rear seats you can't believe how much room there is back there under the hatchback! The old Z-Cars are also real easy to work on if you like to maintain your cars! There are many places to pick up the parts for the old Z's too, both new and used! Fun Car!Jan 14, 2013

My dad bought this car new for my mom. It had been stored for 10 years when I started driving it because my daughter needed a car for college and I gave her my sentra. We got a new battery and repaired a leak in the radiator and it runs great. It is all original in like new condition. These are incredible cars! Now my daughter is waiting for her turn at it.May 21, 2011

I love the engine that was put in the car. The transmission is not the best and the cable controlled clutch is slow to react. I have a hydraulic clutch and it gives a faster response reaction time. The handling is pretty good if your in sport mode, but if I put it in full or neutral the car is harder to control at higher speed. The car has alot of grounding and electrical issues. The body style is not very upgradeable but it still has its perks. The leather seats like to split at the seams. This car is very fun despite all of the problems its can have.Dec 20, 2010

I bought this car brand new and when I did I thought "I will never sell this car". I have taken care of it that way ever since. It has taken me 167k on the original motor which has never been rebuilt. The tranny has been rebuilt and most of the rubber stuff under the hood has been replaced along with the starter alternator, water pump(many), timing belts (many) and lots of tires. I have totally redone the suspension including a bigger sway bar on front and rear with KYBs, Eibach springs and just recently added a Cusco strut brace bar. Over the years the car has been a sunday driver longer then a daily driver, which it was only for the first 10 years of its life. Since then, only a sunday car and always garaged. All the rust that I got on it has been cut out (not much but they rust regardless). The stereo is completely swapped out...BTW, this is a non-turbo, I couldn't afford the insurance when I was 23 when bought the car. My leather is also nice, a few places needed fixing but the main faces of the leather are original. Overall if you take of this car people and show it to people they will look at you today and say (what is this thing). While a 370 is way faster and can out handle my old Z, the old girl still gets around and turns heads now that most of them are trashed and in the junk yard. Aug 02, 2010

Performace is now excellent after all the new parts, car needed to be rebuilt still needs body work but a true drift car. interior is being redone black leather dash, black carpet headliner amc drivers racing seat. jvc headunit with polk audio speakers no subs. Exterior lazy eyes car is now silver on black looking to paint a pearl white. This car sucks on gas but for a 84 what do you expect The car is a 5 speed Rwd and is really fun to drive.Mar 14, 2009

I bought this car for $1500 so its by no means a hot rod. Its a little rough around the edges but it still starts in cold weather and usually runs fine. For a car that so old thats pretty good in my opinion. Its not as fast as it looks, partly because it is not the turbo model and im sure that bein 25 years old doesnt help much. It squeaks and rattles every time you hit a bump, but again, thats to be expected. I love the digital dash i think overall the car is pretty cool looking. It stands out in a crowd. It gets great gas mileage and i have a blast driving it.Feb 23, 2009

This is the first Z to come out with a V6 and I don't really care for the V6, im more of a fan of the inline 6's. Mostly cause they sound better and look great. Ithink the only problem I have with this Z31 is 1: a little to heavy 2: theres way too much body roll and thats all. These problems were kinda intentional really. The Z31 was more of a touring car with its nice ride(due to weight) and the just right amount of power to push it faster then most cars on the road in those days. But to leave on a good note, this car is great for even a first car. I got mine for around $1000 and it was in great shape. If your looking for an old school nissan then this is the car for you.Jan 05, 2009

The first generation 300ZX is the black sheep, and ugly duck of the family. This is a 50th Anniversary Edition version, which has different wheels, fenders, and side moldings than a normal 1984 300zx. Inside is more gadgets and gizmos than you would know what to do with. From steering wheel controls, for cruise and radio, to adjustable shock ride, digital dash, power everything, and even 8 mini subwoofers in each seat. (4 under you, and 4 in your lower back) Just think of the car Jackie Chan was in, for the movie Cannonball Run. Beside the automatic transmission, which has a mind of its own, this car was the best japanese sports car of its time and it still feels great to drive it. If it had a manual transmission, i wouldn't have anything bad to say about it except that in 1984 the Z31 had a oil cooled turbo and it's starting to show some signs of fatigue (at least it's T3).Mar 30, 2008
