The performance is rather poor. It is an outdated 2.0 litre carburetted engine
connected to a stone-age 3-speed auto.
Since the suspension is uprated, it is quite fun to drive. It corners like stink,
and handles like a proper, honest RWD car.
Build quality is good. Parts are easy to come by. All the major repairs can be
carried out with basic knowledge of cars and simple tools. That's what the
Sierra's were designed for: easy maintaining. The engine is bulletproof and
will take anything you throw at her.
The upgraded interior makes it a good place to be in. Scorpio Ultima seats
will give you a relaxed feeling. In fact, this car slows me down after work,
which I think is a good thing.
Milage is quite poor, 10 litres/100 km in the winter, 9 litres in the summer.
OK, the car is old, I'll forgive her for being thirsty.
The car is fun to drive. It is not a highway car by all means. But, small b-roads
and winding corners are the places this Sierra will feel at home. The uprated
suspension will give you the ultimate in-control feeling.Dec 19, 2010
