The car was almost 30 years old when i bought it and had been sitting for atleast
10 of that. The cost of replacing parts and maintaining it was not expensive.
Handling and braking were very good and the car had 4 wheel disc brakes from the
factory. in the cargo area you can fit 3 people lying down. I really liked the blue
silver exterior paint and the overall design of the interior even though both needed
to be redone. The car was a lot of fun to drive and cornered really well. There wasn't ever a time I felt uncomfortable cornering HARD.Dec 24, 2011

well overall quality of the car is in good shape. body is straight, no major problems with it. it is currently undergoing a motor swap and undating to a 83 turbo model. should be a great car to drive once back on the road. Jul 24, 2010

I regretted trading my mustang in for this... but it was still a pretty fun car. It was dark brown, so it wasn't too pretty of a color either but it did run well. This was my first car that had a manual transmission and it was a good car to learn on as far as that goes. It also had T-tops, A/C, ps, pb and rode a heck of a lot smoother than my mustang did... plus it got better gas mileage too! For some reason, it had an 83 fuel injected engine in it rather than the regular 1980 engine so it was kind of a sleeper in that regard. It held up overall but I did crack the fuel injectors one day driving too fast coming home from college in summer heat though! Oops, my bad! Overall, it was a good car... it handled extremely well and was a comfortable ride but I don't have any regrets about getting rid of it either... but I never held on to cars to long anways as you've already probably figured out!Aug 24, 2008

1980 Dartun 280zx with a turbo motor swap. Turbocharged 2.8L I6 with Megasquirt Stand Alone Engine Management System and a 5-Speed. Car drives great and is a blast to drive. I am hoping to get close to 30mpg with a 300hp motor and with a 21 gallon tank that gets you almost anywhere. Parts are inexpensive and easy to find. They are a breeze to work on and are reliable even well into 300,000 miles.Aug 03, 2008

well, its definitely an ugly car right now. the body has tons of rust, but surprisingly it has good floors still. the body is rusted and beaten, there is a huge dent in the drivers side door that prevents it from opening properly from the outside. rust everywhere, rockers to the roof. it runs very strong though, even with being in dire need of a rebuild, and with all that it still gets great mileage,35 city and 40 highway. the interior is shot, dash has more cracks than a plumbers convention. the seats are shredded. and all the plastic, vinyl, and carpet is sun faded and rotten.
