This car is absolutely aesome, 2.85L engine that can easily be interchanged with new holden/chev/gm engines, supercharger/turbo unit could be added, the engine bay is pretty large. Bit heavy and sluggish and expensive 2 run but hey-

Overall performance of the car is quite good , the little 253 V8 is no race motor but has good get up and go , isnt too thirsty with good highway economy due to a 2.78 diff ratio . It makes the right sounds but cos its a V8 .
Braking and handling are above average and I have spent a fair bit of time overhauling these components .
The body and paint is great condition due to repaint . The interior is my favourite feature with full retrim , half cage , converted manual to floor shift , GTS steering wheel and many other subtle upgrades .

The only reason I bought this car is to make a quick buck. Jimbo blew up the motor so I gave it a transplant and sold it off to a mate. It was a fun project, just a shame the car went missing as she was a pretty good old bus.Aug 07, 2009

Just a matter of how many pennys you can get together, i hate that thers always more you can do.....for a price.
253i HX Premier Kingswood wagon, virgin block, mostly yella terra from heads up and under construction on HDT spec bottom end, still using oldskool trix, in origonal Holden Aquarius paint and little 19/245s on her feet. She idles on five doller notes but the sounds worth every penny...!Dec 18, 2008

Mine was a ute, and it was always reliable. Never had any major problems with it, and what I did have was easily fixable on the driveway. Accelerated and handled like you would expect a '79 ute to accelerate and handle, though the braking was surprisingly good. Iconic truck, loved it!!Apr 23, 2008
