Plenty of power, firm shifting, decent handling make this car really fun to drive. The 3.73 gear ratio in the rear combined with the posi really make this car pull off the line. At cruising speed, very smooth ride with soft suspension.
The drum brakes in the rear are the biggest con. Plan your braking, because brakes are under powered for the weight of the car.Mar 20, 2014

Oh the olds, was a clean ride, bought it off my brother. Was completly stock, nice cruiser. Loved the pillow top seats! Had some aftermarket speakers and head unit, bumping stereo! Definatley not a performance machine, but still brought a smile to my face.Apr 19, 2012

I love that this car is just pure American from front to rear bumper
and that its allllll muscle. Not a thing about this beauty is wrong. Ive
gotta give credit to the designers of this car and say EXCELLENT JOB.
The acceleration in this car as well as the handling are amazing and
the braking is ok, nothing to go crazy about but it gets the job done.
And its an American-built car...what more is there to say haha. Its an
Amazing car and honstley, this is a car I see myself keeping for a
LONG TIME. Its definetly a car for a person who loves to get in under
the hood and play and there are sooo many upgrades you can put in it
. Bottom line, Its amazing. Apr 07, 2011

Even though its a 3 speed, it hauls ass on the freeway. Its got a small block V8 that sounds strong. Its really expensive to own this type of car because it keeps breaking down. Definitely turns heads while driving around town, its got massive beat.Jun 04, 2010

1/4 mile car Fast in a straight line. 350+ horse . work in progress still not sure if its going to be a street/strip car or strip only. In the middle of building a diff for it to have one that the car doesn't eat all the time. Promised Sarah it would be done in time to take her to grad and lay some smoke down.Feb 14, 2010

It needs to be restored before it'll look really nice, but as it is it runs quite nice (considering that it hasn't been driven for over 15 years). It needs to get new tires and suspension before I start driving it heavily.Oct 06, 2009

This is one of the first cars i owned, and i loved it to death. It was such a comfortable, smooth ride, and a real head turner. Now that i have it back from my ex, im going to try and get it back to its former glory. With summer time coming up, nothing beats cruising in the Cutlass!!Mar 21, 2008

Jet black with T-Tops and red velour interior... Aye-chee-wah-wah!!!!! Oh, and it had a fully functional premuim 8 track payer with true quadrophonic quality sound. Yeah baby... Rode great and it had a good sized V-8 under the hood.Mar 09, 2008

My 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme was special ordered by my mother. It is a that rusty brown color, two door hardtop, with tan interior. It does not have a vinyl roof. The paint job is excellent, shiney and no chipping or fading. Everything works including the air conditioning - which is rare on a 30 year old car. Everything but the radiator cap is original. It is in mint conditon with only 9000 miles. It has been always been parked in a garage. I would like to know the value of the car. Feb 19, 2008

The Cutlass Supreme is an instant classic. It's body style, shape and speed, nowadays, make it stand out in a crowd. Being an owner myself, I feel proud to own one. With a stock 305 V8 under my hood, I can stomp any cocky rookie at the stoplights. One thing that needs to be watched for it RUST! Undercoating is very important! The rear framerails are famous for being the first thing to go. And the plastic around the seatbelts will start the break and cut your seatbelts (which aren't very cheap, believe me). Also, try to keep the tires and rims as stock as possible. Too wide and the crome around the wheel well WILL cut into your tires; another issue I had. Overall, it's a very reliable car. The engine still starts even at -30 Celcius. If properly maintained, it will last you for many years to come.Jan 17, 2008
