It came with a 350 CID engine, I put in a 400 CID engine from a 1977 Trans Am and later I put in a 455 with 1971 code 96 heads. I absolutely loved this car. I had 10" wide craiger rims on the back and 8" wide on the front. It took air shocks to keep the rear 295/50/15 tires from rubbing the wheel wells. I had many great memories in this car.Nov 11, 2013

This car was bought for $900 as a daily driver, and kept for about 3 years, when the rust and coolant leaks started to ask for more money in maintenance then the car cost. Otherwise I'd have kept it. it was big, imposing, powerful, and fun to drive.Dec 13, 2011

this is my very first car. It has a 401 cubic-inch engine, it's very fast! very good braking for how heavy it is. The handling is very smooth! it doesn't have good gas mileage, it's a very reliable car, i haven't had much trouble with it. i love driving it around town, and seeing how people look at.Jan 19, 2011

last of the big body grand prix, this car was my 1st car i owned! the 301 was under powered but the 400 tranny helped alittle. i blew this 301 twice so the 400 was the only thing going in! on the note, it was much more fun to race with a 400!Jun 13, 2010

i bought this grand prix with a 350 4 barrel turbo 350, that i upgraded to a turbo 400. it was a great big car. and would doo burnouts a block long when making a right hand turn , lol......Eventually i began to beat on the car and it had issues i ran 120 octane fuel in the car thinking i would clean the carbon off the valves and did some internal damage...Never pulled th evalve covers to se but the ping and knock never went away.........eventually it was known in the neighborhood cause i painted a skull and cross bones on the hood and on the quarters " try me" was written.......Mar 21, 2010

This was my first car I owned. It was a midsize car back then. Today it seems like a full size. It has the 400 engine. The doors are very heavy. It has a great ride. When the car is parked at a resteraunt I see people coming to it. They seem happy to see it like they may have owned on at one time. Jul 28, 2008
