Having a brother who has rebuilt a 73 TR6 from the frame up, there's no comparing a rebuilt engine to a 40 year old car with 66k miles on it, but of the 3 TR6's (unmodified) I've driven over the years, this is a good car.
The sound of the dual exhaust is a wonderful thing, brings back memories of riding around with my dad when I was small enough to fit behind the front seats!
Only annoyance with these cars has been that I'm short... I swear they were built for people 5' 7" or above! (the seat just doesn't move far enough forward for me to drive these cars comfortably... legs are just too darn short.)Apr 27, 2014

The appearance, handling, torque and sound of these cars is superb. When brought back to proper condition they are very reliable and can be driven anywhere. They are easy to maintain and parts are readily available. The Lucas electricals get a bum rap but are as good as any other electrical system of the era. There are many modern upgrade available that help improve their reliability and performance.Feb 24, 2012

I loved this car, it might seem old hat to some, but looked fabulous and sounded great.
As far as performance is concerned, it was engaging and twitchy, but you wont beat much away from the lights, buts thats not why you buy a TR.
Buy one, find a tunnel and try and wipe the grin off your face as you floor the loud pedal.Oct 29, 2008

My uncle owns this car. He bought it a couple of years
ago and it is completely original. It is a fantastic beach
car, being a convertible, and it is very quick. Its also
LOUD. People hear this car coming and turn to look. It
is a gorgeous car, the color is fantastic, and it is mad
fun to drive.Sep 09, 2008
