Good value. Only negative is an automatic transmission. Driving a Corvette with automatic transmission is like kissing your sister.Mar 22, 2024

Its a beautiful car. The body is amazing, and it has the power to match the body. Not a good day to day car but a lot of fun to drive and good for getting a lot of looks. New Corvettes are so common that people tend to ignore them, but its impossible to ignore this one.Aug 15, 2013

Turn key ready for cruising. Gets a lot of attention when sitting at stoplights. Very simple car to do any kind of upgrades and the cost isn't way out there either. I have a (Corvette America) parts cataloge that comes with the car. Apr 17, 2012

There is absolutely nothing I dislike about this car, after 12-years of ownership I have it just about where I want it. However, I am considering changing the wheels and tires soon. My wife wanted to know when would it be finished, it will never be finished ! There is always something to do to the car, unlike my BMW which you can only buy gas and have it serviced.

Excellent acceleration for its era, braking is good, handling crisp-- power steering offers no feed back. Build quality- frame, powertrain solid, body looks good after all these years. Exterior is beautiful, I personally like the interior design, and it fits me well (or I fit it well). Eats gas, but gas economy is not why I got it. Have had some expense in suspension restoration, but other than that, just fine. Great fun to drive, the Corvette rumble is wonderful to listen to. NOTE: in October of 2011 I had to rebuild the Rochester Q-jet. The rebuild was reasonable and everything is working fine now. The crud that is in the 10% ethanol gas in this area is unbelievable, the interior of the carb around the jets and in the bowl had what appeared to be a light reddish-white particulate in it. The filter was not clogged so I presume it settled out of the fuel once in the carb. Try to run real gas in these things or find an additive that can treat the problems with gas that has 10% ethanol in it.May 13, 2010

Fun car to drive and gets lots of looks and comments but it is a 37 year old car that cannot compete with todays technology in its stock form.
I prefer to keep it original and enjoy those summer cruises with the T-Tops off Apr 09, 2010

Performance- For the era, it was amazingly fast. Not so much any more. Still pretty fast though
Build Quality- Well its a 36 year old car... of course it has issues
Appearance- Thoughts may differ, but this car is gorgeous. They definitely went form over function as the interior is somewhat small
Cost of Ownership-Once again, this is a 36 year old car. Once it is fixed completely, then it won't cost much to maintain. It really drinks gas though
Fun Factor-Once all the kinks are worked out, this car will be amazing. Fast, gorgeous, and rare, people pay attention.Sep 19, 2009

For being so old it is a great car.
Performance is really good, needs some suspension upgrade to be able to compete with modern cars.
It is a really fun car to drive.
It does consume some gas so to say.Apr 19, 2009

All my driving life I have wanted a "Vette" I always pictured a 78' but I fell in love with my little yellow "RumbleBee" She's fast, sexy and fun as heck to drive. Even when she's grabbing pavement she looks like a peice of art...a car of the past.
I have had many sports cars, 78 Firebird,78 Camaro,66 Caprice,89 5.0, 97 firebird, and an 86 Fiero......
but this baby will never, EVER be traded off, sold or given away. She's a keeperDec 12, 2008

I've owned it for 10 years now. I totalled it out opn the freeway recently. Now I have to find another one. My wife seems to think I should use the money for other "more important " things. My heart is broken. I loved that car.Jan 26, 2008
