Liked that it was reliable (even after the timing belt broke; nothing was damaged and a new belt had it back on the road).
Didn't like the paint, lack of power, and the stigma of being a Pinto owner was hard to deal with as a kid.Jul 10, 2014

It is a great car for kicking around town. your not going to burn rubber off the light, but you will draw attention cruising around in it as people see it and relive a little of their youth. its a reliable car and the motors will live forever. maintenance is so easy under the hood the car is wide open (partially because of the tiny motor). great car. i would recommend to anybody. I drove my Pinto into the ground and when I was done with it the guy I sold it to put in a new camshaft and drove it for another 5-6 years. You just can't really kill a Pinto...they always come back...the original zombie!!!Oct 07, 2012

A lot of people make out the Pinto as a joke. However, I thought mine was nothing short of fabulous. I bought a '72 Pinto new in September of '72 after my Fiat bankrupted me. It was a 'Bare-Bones' unit, with the 2.0L engine, 4-Speed manual. I beat the thing unmercifully for four years and 84,000 miles and it NEVER broke or let me down. I'd love to have another some day!Aug 21, 2009

I am so ashamed that this car is part of my vehicle owning history. Why or why could I brag that my first car was a Nova??
For Christmas my dad gave me a car battery and a case of oil. Tells you all you need to know about its performance. Aug 14, 2009

I loved the crank-open sunroof! I'd open it in mid-winter and then blast the heat in the car. A little slice of heaven when it's you're first car ; ) It was a 4-speed, medium blue with a dark blue vinyl roof.Aug 11, 2009

How can you talk bad about your first car? Yeah there were things wrong with it (this one didn't have the ejecting gas tank) but if it ever stranded me anywhere, I could fold down the seats and sleep in the back.Mar 10, 2008
