Bought it from the original owner in August of 1986. At the time it had only
42 thousand miles. Owner said he had a car to drive that the company he worked
provided so the car spent a lot of time in the garage.
Spent about 3600 bucks on the body, interior and suspension. Repainted in original color in 1994. New brakes in 1989, had difficulty finding front brake
hoses for a car with disc brakes.
Engine has never been down and uses no oil between changes.
A/C still works.
Fun to drive and turns heads every time I
hit the street.Apr 11, 2009

My 1972 ford LTD covertible is an absolute tank! I took 4 donor cars and put together a summer ride of a lifetime! The 400 cid engine is simplicity at its finest to work on, and gets you off the stop line at a blink of an eye. I owned 72's all through high school but could never afford a covertible until years later. After watching "Magnum Force" with Clint Eastwood last night, it reminded me of all my teenage angst I dealt with in these cars. I even had a date refuse to ride in it cause it had a "mouth" - was I lucky to get rid of the girl and keep the car LOL! If anyone has one or needs questions answered one one of these old girls email me at adkd@tds.net and I'd be glad to discuss them with you.Feb 25, 2009

My car is a 1972 Ford LTD coupe. She has 54k miles on the original engine and tranny. She also has an all original interior. She has a 2 speed auto in her so she gets horrible gas mileage.Feb 28, 2008
